Mitsubishi Electric to Exhibit at Carbon Capture Technology World Expo 2026

Introducing initiatives for CO2 capture, utilization, and removal, targeting net-negative emissions

TOKYO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (TOKYO: 6503) announced today that it will present its carbon dioxide capture and utilization (CCU) and carbon dioxide removal (CDR) initiatives at Carbon Capture Technology World Expo 2026 at Hamburg Messe in Germany from October 20 to 22. The company’s first-ever exhibit at this Expo will be located in Booth 4B40, Hall B4L and will feature panel displays and video presentations themed “Beyond Carbon Neutrality: Towards Net-Negative Emissions.”

Mitsubishi Electric places sustainability at the cornerstone of its management and is accelerating “Trade-On” (mutual benefits) initiatives that balance addressing social challenges and growing its business. Mitsubishi Electric’s comprehensive and strategic sustainability initiatives transcend the boundaries of existing businesses and organizations to advance technological innovation under the corporate materialities “Realize a sustainable global environment” and “Promote innovation for sustainability.”

In the field of carbon dioxide capture, utilization and storage (CCUS), which contributes significantly to emissions reduction, Mitsubishi Electric is researching and developing carbon recycling technologies that convert captured CO2 into valuable products, such as chemicals and fuels. The company is placing a special focus on CCU solutions aimed at “local production for local consumption.” The goal is to capture and utilize CO2 on-site at emission sources, such as small- and medium-scale factories, where large-scale underground storage is difficult to apply from the perspective of capital investment.
