Longtime Transamerica leader Danny Kling and industry veteran Kevin Murphy bring deep retirement expertise to key leadership roles
BALTIMORE, Sept. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Transamerica announced two strategic additions to its Retirement Distribution leadership team today as the company continues to build on strong momentum and invest in its next phase of growth. The appointments enhance the company’s ability to meet the evolving needs of employers, advisors and retirement savers through industry-leading expertise and client-focused solutions.
Kevin Murphy has joined Transamerica as National Sales Manager for the Large Market, and Danny Kling has been promoted to National Sales Manager for Mid Market. Both leaders will report to Darren Zino, Head of Retirement Distribution.
These leadership appointments come as Transamerica continues to expand its retirement business, which supports more than $253 billion in retirement plan assets. Strong sales growth, particularly in pooled plans, along with increasing demand for IRA and stable value products, underscores the company’s commitment to helping employers and individuals achieve better retirement outcomes through innovative solutions and industry-leading service.
“Transamerica is building on significant momentum,” said Darren Zino. “We’re seeing strong growth across our retirement business, and we’re investing in the people who can help us keep raising the bar. Danny and Kevin are accomplished leaders with deep industry experience, and their appointments reflect our commitment to investing in the talent and leadership needed to support clients and drive our business forward. We’re confident their perspectives and contributions will help us meet the needs of clients today while expanding access to retirement solutions for more Americans.”
Murphy joins with more than 20 years of financial services experience spanning workplace retirement distribution, institutional sales, strategic accounts and enterprise growth. Prior to joining Transamerica, he held senior leadership roles at Broadridge, Franklin Templeton and other firms. In his new role, he will lead Large Market Distribution and help advance growth strategies, strategic partnerships and market expansion efforts.
Kling brings extensive experience driving sales growth and advisor engagement across Transamerica’s retirement business. Most recently serving as Divisional Sales Manager, he has built a reputation for developing talent, coaching high-performing teams and delivering strong results for clients and partners. In his new role, Kling succeeds Brian Walker, who will retire October 1 following a distinguished career and many years of leadership within Transamerica’s retirement business.
