We hear of its ability toย expediteย data entry, make swift decisions, and spend less time charting. And whileย that’sย all great, patient concern around AI tends to focus on other factors entirely, making these selling pointsย virtually meaninglessย to them.ย 

In my experience, what patients areย truly concernedย about with healthcare AI tools is whether they can trust where theirย private dataย is going.ย Theyโ€™reย concerned about informational inaccuracies that AI may have. Some are even worried that this AI overhaul is something theyย donโ€™tย getย a sayย in.ย ย 

Over the years, as digital tools have become more common in clinical settings, the connection that patients have to the care experience has shown signs of strain. Aย recent studyย found that despite rapid adoption, the patient experienceย remainsย fragmentedโ€”an unintentional outcome that comes from developers building tools without paying close attention to how careย actually happens. This gap is where AI scribes are beginning to make a meaningful difference.ย ย

Even if you never read these rules, youย benefitย from the fact that they push the entire system toward clearer, safer use of AI in care.ย
