Conveyor and automation solution provider, LAC Conveyors & Automation, announced in a company press release that it has partnered up with warehouse robotic automation supplier, Prime Robotics.
LAC Conveyors & Automation explained that the partnership gives it the exclusive rights to sell and promote Prime Robotics range of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) through its network.
Chris Unwin, CEO of LAC Group commented on what the partnership will mean for the conveyor and automation solution provider by saying: “I’m delighted to secure this exclusive partnership with Prime Robotics. Their fantastic range of AMR’s will not only enhance our existing automation offering but contribute towards the goal of growing market share of automation projects within the logistics and manufacturing sectors.”
The pandemic has highlighted how useful robotics and AMRs can be for industries that needed to keep operating throughout the pandemic. As businesses switched to having reduced staff and put in place social distancing rules, robotics and automation have risen in popularity to keep up with consumer and business demand.
Due to the popularity increase in robotics, automation, and use of AMRs, businesses have been quick to notice it and are forming partnerships as a result with the conveyor and automation solution provider not being the only ones securing new partnerships to increase its business value.
Conveyor networks announced in May 2020 that it had teamed up with Geek+ and are now an official UK and Ireland distributor for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) logistic solutions. This highlights that LAC Conveyor & Automation are not the only ones putting in place strategic partnerships within the conveyor and automation market.
The conveyor and automation solution provider highlighted how the coronavirus pandemic has caused a manual labour shortage which when coupled with the change of consumer buying habits, has caused what it claims to be an overwhelming demand – within the logistics industry in particular.
LAC Conveyors & Automation explained how its witnessed increasing amounts of businesses that are questioning its current processes and looking towards automation and robotics solutions with the aim to be able to meet the flexibility of changing customers’ demands.
With the business having a number of globally recognised customers such as BMW, Boots, Coca-Cola, Greggs, Hermes, and more on its client roster, it expects the partnership with Prime Robotics to enhance its service offering especially to its customers with large warehouses.
Prime Robotics claims that customers who use its products can expect to have its warehouse productivity improved by 8-10 times its current output by potentially allowing the reduction in demand for manual labour and only needing quick training to deploy its range of AMRs
Eric Rongley, Founder and CEO of Prime Robotics explained why he’s proud to begin the partnership with the conveyor and automation solution provider by saying: “I’m proud to begin our partnership with LAC to bring our logistics robots to the UK market. Brexit and the Coronavirus pandemic have put strains on supply chains in the UK and together Prime and LAC provide complimentary products that form a compelling solution for warehouse operators and manufacturers.”
The conveyor and automation solution provider wrote in the press release that plans are in the making to open a demonstration centre in the UK which will enable customers to experience a fully functioning automated warehouse solution in person.
The company claims that the centre will distribute real products and feature pick stations, multiple rack combinations, Prime Robotics AMR range, and a range of LAC’s conveyor systems and automation solutions.
