Christian Klein is Chief Executive Officer and chairman of the Executive Board of SAP SE. In his role, Klein holds the overall responsibility for the corporate strategic direction, management, and performance of SAP. A nearly three-decade SAP veteran, Klein joined the company in 1999 as a student and has held a series of leadership roles, including Chief Financial Officer of SAP SuccessFactors, Chief Controlling Officer, and Chief Operating Officer. He joined SAP’s Executive Board in 2018 and was named co-CEO in 2019 before assuming the sole CEO role the following year. Under his leadership, SAP has accelerated its shift to cloud-based services and expanded its focus on business AI and enterprise transformation. Klein holds a diploma in International Business Administration from the University of Cooperative Education in Mannheim, Germany.
