HootCore PIM Rolls Out Major Update to Product Data Management

The update shows category managers exactly where each AI-generated product attribute came from and how reliable it is before it goes live, removing the black-box problem common to ecommerce product data enrichment services.

TALLINN, Estonia – July 2026 – HootCore, a platform that combines product information management (PIM), order management, and content management for retail and e-commerce businesses, today announced confidence scoring and data source tracking for its AI product enrichment engine.

HootCore PIM helps e-commerce and retail teams turn incomplete supplier data, often just an item number, a name, and a price, into a complete, sellable product listing: specifications, category placement, images, and channel-specific descriptions, generated automatically and published across sales channels from one system.

The new update adds a check on that process: every field the system fills in now shows where the underlying data came from and how confident the system is in its accuracy.

Most AI product data enrichment tools don’t show their work.

These tools typically return a finished description with no way to verify how it was produced. A category manager either takes it on faith or manually re-verifies every field, which defeats the purpose of automating the work in the first place.

HootCore’s update addresses that gap directly: each attribute is checked against its source before it’s surfaced to the team. Attributes that the system can verify with high confidence are marked ready to publish. Anything it can’t verify is flagged for manual review instead of going live automatically.

HootCore covers the enrichment engine and how confidence scores are calculated in its guide to AI product data enrichment.

Product enrichment runs inside the PIM, not as a separate tool

Teams that run AI enrichment separately from their PIM typically do the work twice: enrich a file, export it, re-import it, and reconcile whatever changed in between. Every extra step is another chance for data to fall out of sync with what’s live on a sales channel.

The enrichment engine runs inside the core product information management workflow instead, so a supplier file with minimal data becomes a channel-ready product record without leaving the platform.

HootCore PIM also offers supplier data management as a separate add-on, outside the core PIM: a supplier portal that lets vendors submit and update their own product data directly, instead of a team collecting it manually by email or spreadsheet. A related add-on, the offer repository, tracks channel- and price-specific offer variants separately from the base product record.

Neither module is required to use AI enrichment; they’re available for teams that want to extend source tracking further up the supply chain.

“Confidence scoring isn’t a label we attach to generated text after the fact,” said Anatoliy Dankov, CTO and co-founder of HootCore. “Every attribute goes through a verification step first, checked against the source it came from, whether that’s a manufacturer feed, a supplier document, or an external database, and only then does it get a confidence value and get surfaced to the team. If the system can’t verify something with enough certainty, it gets flagged for manual review instead of being published automatically.”

“This builds on a broader push we made throughout 2025 to strengthen how HootCore PIM handles product data, including the supplier portal and offer repository we shipped the same year,” Dankov added. “A category manager can look at a listing today and know immediately which parts they can trust and which ones need a second look, without having to reverse-engineer how the data was generated.”
