
KENNESAW, Ga.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Kassidy Peterson, Yamaha Marine Advanced Development Engineer and graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technologyยฎ (M.I.T.), began her career at Yamaha one year ago and is an example of the top talent Yamaha is attracting to it Marine Innovation Center here in Kennesaw, Ga. since it opened a year ago.
The Marine Advanced Development division focuses on new and emerging technology in the marine industry and explores new ways to enjoy the water.

Yamaha recently held a Spring Recruitment Day at the Marine Innovation Center and marked the first anniversary of the official ribbon cutting ceremony for the MIC, attended by Governor Brian Kemp, First Lady Marty Kemp and Mayor Derek Easterling of Kennesaw. Yamaha Marine continues to actively recruit top engineers for positions at the Marine Innovation Center in Kennesaw, which houses the Yamaha Marine Connected Division as well as Yamaha Marine Product Management, U.S. Marine Solutions and Advanced Marine Systems.
โThe Marine Innovation Center (MIC) represents the cutting edge of product development within our Marine division. The MIC currently employs 100 and during the next few months, Yamaha plans to fill an additional 20 positions in areas such as engineering, product planning and supply chain,โ said Ben Speciale, President, Yamaha U.S. Marine Business Unit. โOur marine teams in Kennesaw are responsible for the development of innovative products that deliver exceptional experiences for Yamaha customers across the globe. As we move more development and engineering to the U.S., we will continue to work with universities to recruit for those positions and expand our team.โ
Yamaha Marine has been hiring students from top universities across the nation to fill electrical engineering, systems engineering, mechanical engineering, product development engineering and software engineering positions. To date, Yamaha has recruited and hired several employees right after graduation. They now work at the MIC in various engineering positions.
During the recruitment day, students interviewed with hiring managers for various software, mechanical and electrical engineering positions. In addition, they received a comprehensive tour of the state-of-the-art Marine Innovation Center, gained insight into current projects at the facility, and experienced product walkthroughs and demos. The students also had the opportunity to participate in a question-and-answer session with Ben Speciale. This recurring event provides new job opportunities and broadens Yamahaโs presence within universities around the world. Thirty-four students from 17 universities including M.I.T., Georgia Techยฎ and Carnegie Mellonยฎ, attended the event at the facility.
The recruitment day also builds on past university engagement opportunities including offsite recruitment, lab partnerships, seminars and career fairs that create new direct connections with some of the nationโs top engineering schools. These helped facilitate Yamahaโs partnerships with innovative universities and labs for research, establishing the company within top universities.
