Aims to further unlock research in behavioural finance and investor behaviour
HALIFAX–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Verecan Group of Companies (“Verecan” or “Company”), a comprehensive wealth management group, is pleased to announce it has funded a research chair for Dr. Lisa Kramer, Professor of Finance at the University of Toronto (“UofT”). As a part of the initiative, Dr. Kramer has been appointed the Verecan Chair in Behavioural Finance. In this role, she will lead cutting-edge research in the areas of capital markets, behavioural finance, investor behaviour and related fields to advance meaningful conversations in the ever-evolving financial landscape.

Verecan will fund Dr. Kramer’s research for a limited term of three years. During this period, Dr. Kramer will serve as a liaison between academia, the financial services industry and the general public by making her research findings accessible to a wide range of audiences.

As a professor at UofT, Dr. Kramer conducts interdisciplinary work in the field of behavioural finance, blending psychology and economics to study markets and financial decision-making. Her research interests include neuroeconomics, investments, market seasonality, human decisions, mood, emotions and the role of animals in society.
