The Spire School Celebrates Leadership Legacy and Welcomes New Executive Director

Dr. Tammy Moscrip passes the torch to Thomas Laudadio, LCSW, as The Spire School enters an exciting new chapter of leadership.

STAMFORD, Conn., Aug. 26, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — After 17 years of dedicated service at Greenwich Education Group, Dr. Tammy Moscrip, PhD, LCSW, will be transitioning out of her role as Chief Administrator & Executive Director of The Spire School, a private therapeutic day school for college-bound students in grades 6-12, at the end of August 2025 as she embarks on the next chapter of her career.

As part of this transition, The Spire School is pleased to welcome Thomas Laudadio, LCSW, as the new Chief Administrator & Executive Director. Tom brings more than two decades of administrative experience in therapeutic and special education settings. A licensed clinical social worker and experienced school administrator, he has a strong record of supporting diverse learners, particularly students who benefit from individualized and emotionally responsive approaches to education. His student-centered philosophy, commitment to inclusive school culture, and deep understanding of therapeutic education models will ensure continuity of care and support for Spire’s students and families.

“I am honored to join the Spire community,” said Laudadio. “The school has a remarkable history of combining academic excellence with therapeutic support, and I look forward to building on that foundation as we continue to empower students in every stage of their journey.”

While the school looks ahead with excitement, Spire also celebrates Dr. Moscrip’s many accomplishments and lasting impact. She first joined Spire as a life coach during its opening year in 2010, and her vision helped shape the school’s unique model that integrates academic learning, therapeutic support, executive functioning coaching, and life readiness skills. Under her leadership, Spire has grown from seven students to more than 60, becoming a thriving, connected community.

During her tenure, Tammy led several key initiatives, including:

  • NEASC Accreditation & CT State Approval (APSEP) – Opening doors for more students and strengthening district partnerships.
  • Academic Expansion & UConn Early College Experience (ECE) – Launching ECE nearly a decade ago and broadening offerings in science, computer science, art, and music.
  • Distributed Leadership Model – Building a collaborative structure across administrators, teachers, life coaches, and guidance staff.
  • Social Work Internship Program – Training the next generation of school social workers through Spire’s life coach model.
  • School Spirit & Community Pride – Establishing the phoenix mascot and fostering a culture of connection through student-led initiatives.

“From the beginning, my goal was to develop a school where academic learning, emotional support, and social growth worked hand in hand,” said Dr. Moscrip. “Together, we built a model that has served hundreds of students and prepared them for meaningful and successful lives. I am deeply grateful for our families, staff, and district partners who have made this journey possible.”

Victoria Newman, Founder and Senior Vice President of Greenwich Education Group, added:

“Tammy’s leadership has shaped Spire into the strong community it is today. We are deeply grateful for her vision and dedication, and we are equally excited to welcome Thomas, whose experience and compassion will guide the school into its next chapter.”

Dr. Moscrip will remain in her role through late August to support a smooth and thoughtful transition.
