CIIM was created to address the growing complexity of insurer investment portfolios and the need for specialized, insurance-focused investment expertise.
Insurance investment management is fundamentally different from traditional asset management, requiring professionals to balance return generation with liquidity, capital, accounting, and regulatory constraints unique to insurers. As insurance portfolios continue to grow in scale and sophistication, the demand for practitioners with applied, insurance-specific investment knowledge has never been greater. The Chartered Insurance Investment Manager™ designation consists of three specialized courses and an ethics requirement and can be completed in approximately six to nine months.
