New Role Expands Texas LNG Leadership Team as Project Nears Final Investment Decision
HOUSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Today Glenfarne Group, LLC, developer of the Texas LNG project, named Houston-based LNG legal veteran Travis King to lead the company’s legal and compliance team. Texas LNG is the liquefied natural gas export terminal being developed in the Port of Brownsville, Texas, by Glenfarne affiliate Texas LNG Brownsville LLC.
King will oversee all legal and compliance functions for Texas LNG as the project approaches a final investment decision targeted for year-end 2025. King will also collaborate across Glenfarne’s rapidly expanding North American LNG portfolio. He will lead the company’s legal and regulatory team.
Glenfarne Chief Executive Officer and Founder Brendan Duval said, “Travis brings exceptional legal and transactional experience in the energy industry. His leadership of the team performing our critical legal and compliance work will be a tremendous help as Texas LNG rapidly advances through to a final investment decision. We will continue expanding the Texas LNG leadership team as we approach FID.”
King has held senior legal positions with Shell’s LNG marketing and trading division and the energy practices at DLA Piper and Norton Rose Fulbright. He earned his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center and his B.S.M. from Tulane University.
Texas LNG has secured customer offtake commitments in a volume sufficient for achieving FID. Kiewit is leading the engineering, procurement, and construction of Texas LNG under a lump-sum turnkey structure.
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission re-issued the Texas LNG Final Order on August 21, 2025, three months ahead of schedule. The Final Order authorized the construction and operation of Texas LNG and approved the project’s construction schedule. Earlier in the month FERC issued the project’s final supplemental environmental impact statement.
