TAIPEI, Taiwan–(BUSINESS WIRE)–As part of Taiwan Weeks 2025, the 2025 ETF Investment Expo was inaugurated on Oct. 17 in Kaohsiung. Co-organized by the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC), Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE), Taipei Exchange (TPEx), Taiwan Futures Exchange (TAIFEX), Taiwan Depository & Clearing Corporation (TDCC), and the Securities Investment Trust and Consulting Association of the R.O.C. (SITCA), the Expo featured 13 financial institutions and 22 themed seminars through Oct. 19, establishing the nation’s largest exchange platform dedicated to ETFs.
FSC Chairperson Peng Jin-lung, Kaohsiung Deputy Mayor Luo Ta-sheng, and TWSE Chairman Lin Hsiu-ming delivered speeches at the opening ceremony, jointly expressing their vision of making Taiwan a leading asset management center in Asia. Chairperson Peng noted that ETFs offer advantages such as transparency, low cost, and efficiency, adding that the FSC will continue to enhance ETF-related policies to promote sustainable and diversified products.
Deputy Mayor Luo highlighted that with its port advantages and technological development, Kaohsiung is on its way to becoming a special zone for asset management in Asia. Chairman Lin emphasized that as Taiwan’s ETF market ranks third largest in Asia, the TWSE will strengthen cross-border cooperation and promote financial literacy among the public.
The Expo’s main visual theme underscored Taiwan’s role as a financial pioneer, symbolically departing from Kaohsiung to connect with global financial hubs. Featuring five main exhibition areas, including the ETF Pavilion and the Kaohsiung Zone, the Expo integrated interactive games and educational experiences to showcase Taiwan’s comprehensive ETF ecosystem.
