ShipStation now enables customers to pay a guaranteed flat rate upfront for duties and taxes to ensure accuracy, transparency, and predictable costs for cross-border shipping
AUSTIN, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–ShipStation, the leading shipping and logistics solution, is helping merchants more confidently ship abroad from the United States. The company is simplifying international shipping through a new guaranteed prepaid duties and taxes feature, enabling customers to easily pay all fees upfront and eliminating unexpected post-delivery charges amid a volatile global market. Clarifying the delivered duty paid (DDP) process highlights ShipStation’s dedication to developing solutions for customers to streamline their end-to-end fulfillment, building on the suite of new features introduced earlier this year.
As global shipping pricing and requirements become more volatile and difficult to understand, ShipStation further expands its capabilities to better serve each customer’s international priorities. In order to make international shipping more accessible, the company is easing the often complicated process of calculating duties and taxes on products originating from the United States bound for global destinations. Merchants can now confirm duty and tax costs directly in ShipStation’s platform when purchasing a label. Amounts will not change, so customers avoid surprise adjustments and will never pay more than the guaranteed rate. With automated customs forms, and deeply discounted shipping rates, the entire process of shipping an international order is simplified and more affordable in ShipStation.
“Cross-border shipping is more complex than ever for merchants navigating the unpredictability of global logistics. So we do the work for them,” said Kelly Vincent, Chief Product Officer at Auctane, ShipStation’s parent company. “The solution takes the guesswork out of the process to give our customers peace of mind. They can choose the right international shipping option with confidence, knowing they won’t face any surprise charges afterward. It’s another way we’re simplifying the end-to-end customer experience and providing transparency into the overall cost of shipping around the world.”
Customers can now view and pay guaranteed duties and taxes at the time of label creation in ShipStation and ShipStation API for shipments with UPS®, FedEx®, and DHL Express®. For more information, visit the ShipStation website.
