The AI Journal Ltd is committed to maintaining a safe, trustworthy, and compliant platform that serves our readers, contributors, and business partners with integrity. This Prohibited Content Policy outlines the types of content we will not accept, publish, or monetize on our platform.

This policy is designed to ensure full compliance with:

  • Google Ad Manager Publisher Policies

  • Ezoic Partner Guidelines

  • UK Media & Publishing Standards

  • Laws of England and Wales

  • Data Protection and Advertising Regulations

By submitting content to The AI Journal, whether as a contributor, commenter, advertiser, or user, you agree to comply with this policy in its entirety. Violations of this policy may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent bans, as outlined in Section 13.


2. Prohibited Content Categories

Category 1: Adult & Sexually Explicit Content

Definition: Content that is designed for sexual arousal, gratification, or entertainment, including text, images, video, audio, or interactive experiences.

Specific Prohibitions:

  • Graphic Sexual Content: Depictions of sex acts, including genital, anal, and/or oral sex; masturbation; sexual penetration; or sexual contact

  • Nudity & Sexually Explicit Imagery: Graphic nudity intended to arouse or sexualize; fully or partially nude figures in sexual contexts or poses

  • Pornography: All forms of pornographic content, including professional, amateur, or illustrated pornography

  • Erotic Content: Sexually explicit stories, descriptions, dialogues, or narratives designed for sexual gratification

  • NSFW Content: Content labeled as “Not Safe For Work” or adult-only due to sexual content

  • Adult Chat & Sexting: Reviews, rankings, guides, recommendations, or promotional content for AI chatbots, apps, or services designed for sexually explicit conversations or sexting

  • Sexual Image & Video Generators: Reviews, recommendations, guides, or links to services designed to generate sexually explicit, nude, or pornographic images or videos

  • Deepfake Pornography: Content featuring AI-generated, altered, or synthesized sexually explicit or nude imagery; instructions on creating deepfake pornography; endorsements or comparisons of deepfake pornography services

  • Cartoon Pornography & Hentai: Illustrated, animated, or stylized sexually explicit content, including anime, manga, or digital art depicting sexual acts, nudity, or erotic scenarios

  • Sexual Enhancement Products & Services: Promotion of sexual enhancement drugs, devices, or services; sexual performance advice; prostitution or escort services; sexual fetish content or services

  • Sexual Advice & Education (Restricted): Content providing sexual advice, techniques, or instructions intended primarily for sexual gratification (general sexual health education may be acceptable if presented from a medical/scientific perspective)

  • Suggestive or Sensual Content: While not explicit, content designed primarily to sexually arouse or tease (depending on context and presentation)

Why This Is Prohibited:

  • Violates Google Ad Manager Publisher Policy on sexually explicit content

  • Violates Ezoic Partner Guidelines

  • Creates brand safety concerns for advertisers

  • May violate UK Obscene Publications Act or similar regulations

  • Creates liability for facilitating adult content distribution

Exceptions:

  • Factual, medical, or scientific discussion of sexual health (without graphic depiction)

  • News coverage of sexual abuse or trafficking (without sensationalism or explicit detail)

  • Educational content on consent and healthy relationships (from reputable sources)


Category 2: Content Endangering Children

Definition: Any content that sexualizes, exploits, endangers, or depicts minors (anyone under 18) in harmful ways.

Specific Prohibitions:

  • Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM): Any image, video, or content depicting child sexual abuse; grooming; or child exploitation

  • Child Exploitation & Endangerment: Content promoting, facilitating, or normalizing abuse, trafficking, or exploitation of minors

  • Sexualization of Minors: Sexualized imagery, descriptions, or content involving minors; underage nudity; “teen” or “young” themed pornography; “lolita” content

  • Underage Dating & Relationships: Content depicting, promoting, or romanticizing sexual relationships involving minors

  • Child Endangerment: Instructions or content promoting harm to children (physical, emotional, psychological, or sexual)

  • Inappropriate Children’s Content: Family-friendly content that secretly contains adult themes, profanity, violence, or sexual content unsuitable for children

  • Removal of Age-Inappropriate Safeguards: Content designed to bypass parental controls, age verification, or child safety measures

Why This Is Prohibited:

  • Violates Google Ad Manager policy strictly

  • Violates Ezoic policy and industry standards

  • Illegal in virtually all jurisdictions, including the UK

  • Mandated reporting obligations for illegal child exploitation material

  • Severe criminal and civil liability

Mandatory Reporting:

Any suspected child sexual abuse material or child exploitation will be immediately reported to:

  • National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) in the US

  • Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) in the UK

  • Local law enforcement


Category 3: Defamatory & Harmful Content

Definition: Content that is false, misleading, or damaging to individuals, organizations, or groups.

Specific Prohibitions:

  • Defamation & Libel: False statements that damage someone’s reputation or character; knowingly spreading false information

  • Personal Attacks & Harassment: Content targeting individuals with abuse, threats, harassment, or intimidation; cyber-bullying

  • Doxxing: Publishing or encouraging the sharing of private information (home address, phone number, workplace, etc.) intended to enable harassment or harm

  • Threats & Violence: Threatening harm, violence, or illegal actions against individuals or groups

  • Misinformation About Individuals: False claims about someone’s personal life, health, relationships, or character

  • Conspiracy Theories (if defamatory): Unfounded conspiracy theories that defame individuals or groups

  • False Accusations: Falsely accusing someone of crimes, misconduct, or unethical behavior without evidence

Why This Is Prohibited:

  • Creates legal liability for defamation, libel, and slander

  • Violates UK Defamation Act 2013

  • Harms individuals’ rights to privacy and dignity

  • Google and Ezoic prohibit this content

  • Damages The AI Journal’s reputation and credibility

Important Note: Legitimate criticism, opinion, and fact-based negative reporting are not defamation if factually accurate or clearly opinion-based. Context and evidence matter.


Category 4: Illegal & Dangerous Content

Definition: Content that promotes, facilitates, or provides instructions for illegal activities, harm, or dangerous acts.

Specific Prohibitions:

  • Illegal Activities: Instructions or promotion of theft, fraud, hacking, identity theft, counterfeiting, or other crimes

  • Drug Promotion: Promotion, sale, or instructions for obtaining illegal drugs or controlled substances (with exceptions for medical/scientific discussion)

  • Dangerous Acts & Self-Harm: Instructions for violence, suicide, self-harm, dangerous stunts, or harmful activities

  • Weapons & Violence: Instructions for creating weapons, explosives, or carrying out violent attacks; promotion of violence or terrorism

  • Fraud & Scams: Promotion of financial scams, pyramid schemes, predatory lending, or fraudulent services

  • Hacking & Cybercrime: Instructions for hacking, malware creation, or cybersecurity attacks

  • Human Trafficking & Modern Slavery: Content promoting, facilitating, or normalizing human trafficking or slavery

  • Organ Trafficking: Content related to illegal organ trade or harvesting

  • Election Interference & Political Manipulation: Content designed to interfere with elections, manipulate voters, or violate election law (in UK, US, or other jurisdictions)

  • Contempt of Court: Content that violates contempt of court laws or interferes with judicial proceedings

  • Incitement to Illegal Activity: Content that encourages others to commit crimes or illegal acts

Why This Is Prohibited:

  • Illegal under UK law and international law

  • Creates direct liability for The AI Journal

  • Google and Ezoic strictly prohibit this

  • Endangers public safety

  • May trigger law enforcement action


Category 5: Pirated & Copyrighted Material

Definition: Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or linking to copyrighted works without proper licensing or permission.

Specific Prohibitions:

  • Pirated Software: Distribution or links to pirated, cracked, or unlicensed software

  • Pirated Entertainment: Distribution or links to pirated movies, TV shows, music, books, or other copyrighted media

  • Counterfeit Goods: Promotion or sale of counterfeit products or materials

  • Unauthorized Reproduction: Republishing copyrighted articles, images, or content without permission or proper licensing

  • Copyright Circumvention: Instructions or tools for circumventing copyright protections, DRM, or access controls

  • Plagiarism: Passing off others’ work as your own; using substantial portions of copyrighted material without attribution

Why This Is Prohibited:

  • Violates copyright law and intellectual property rights

  • Creates legal liability for copyright infringement

  • Google and Ezoic strictly prohibit this

  • Damages creators’ rights and livelihoods

  • May trigger DMCA takedown notices and legal action

Important Note: Fair use (limited quotes with attribution, educational discussion, criticism) may be permitted in some contexts. Each case is evaluated individually.


Category 6: Unsafe, Malicious, & Fraudulent Links

Definition: Links to or promotion of dangerous, unverified, or fraudulent services and websites.

Specific Prohibitions:

  • Phishing & Social Engineering: Links designed to steal credentials, personal information, or financial data through deception

  • Malware Distribution: Links to websites hosting malware, ransomware, viruses, spyware, or other malicious software

  • Scams & Fraud: Links to fraudulent services, advance fee schemes, or financial scams

  • Unverified Medical/Financial Advice: Links to unqualified practitioners offering dangerous medical advice or investment schemes

  • Fake Products & Services: Links to counterfeit or fraudulent products sold under false pretenses

  • Credential Theft: Links designed to harvest usernames, passwords, or authentication credentials

  • Exploit Kits: Links to exploit kits or tools designed for cybercriminal activity

Why This Is Prohibited:

  • Endangers user security and financial safety

  • Violates Google and Ezoic policies

  • Creates liability if users are harmed through links we provide

  • May facilitate cybercrime or fraud

Due Diligence: The AI Journal reserves the right to verify the legitimacy and safety of external links before publication.


Category 7: Off-Topic, Spam & Low-Quality Content

Definition: Content that is irrelevant to The AI Journal’s focus, exists primarily for manipulation, or provides minimal editorial value.

Specific Prohibitions:

  • Off-Topic Content: Articles that do not relate to technology, AI, innovation, or related business/professional topics; spam or promotional posts unrelated to our editorial focus

  • Keyword Stuffing & SEO Manipulation: Content designed primarily for search engine manipulation rather than reader value; excessive keyword repetition

  • Duplicate Content: Republishing the same or substantially similar content multiple times; copying entire articles from other sources

  • Link Spam: Content whose primary purpose is to include multiple affiliate links, promotional links, or backlinks to unrelated sites

  • Low-Effort Content: Thin content with minimal information, research, or value; AI-generated filler content without substantial original contribution

  • Excessive Self-Promotion: Content that is primarily promotional for a person or business without genuine informational value

  • Misleading Headlines & Clickbait: Headlines that dramatically misrepresent content or are designed purely to generate clicks without delivering promised information

  • Spam Comments & Automated Posting: Automated comments, spam, or bot-generated posts designed to manipulate engagement metrics

Why This Is Prohibited:

  • Violates Google quality guidelines and Ezoic standards

  • Damages user experience and site credibility

  • Wastes editorial resources

  • May trigger Google penalties or algorithmic demotion


Category 8: Misinformation & Misleading Content

Definition: False, misleading, or unverified information presented as fact, particularly on sensitive topics.

Specific Prohibitions:

  • Deliberate Misinformation: Knowingly false claims presented as factual; conspiracy theories presented without evidence or as established fact

  • Health Misinformation: False health claims, unproven cures, or medical advice from unqualified sources; anti-vaccination misinformation; harmful health recommendations

  • Financial Misinformation: False investment advice, unverified financial tips, or misleading financial predictions from unqualified sources

  • Election & Political Misinformation: False claims about election results, voting procedures, candidates, or political events (particularly harmful during election periods)

  • Scientific Misinformation: Deliberate misrepresentation of scientific research or consensus; false climate science; pseudoscience presented as proven science

  • Lack of Disclosure: Sponsored content, affiliate links, or conflicts of interest not clearly disclosed

  • Misleading Data & Statistics: Misrepresented statistics, cherry-picked data, or false charts presented to support false conclusions

  • Impersonation & False Attribution: False attribution of quotes or claims to public figures or experts

Why This Is Prohibited:

  • Can cause public harm (health, financial, electoral)

  • Violates Google and Ezoic content policies

  • Damages The AI Journal’s credibility and authority

  • May violate advertising standards and consumer protection laws

Important Note: Good-faith errors, differing opinions, and legitimate debate are not misinformation. We value diverse perspectives and corrections are welcome.


Category 9: Hate Speech & Discriminatory Content

Definition: Content that attacks, demeans, or promotes discrimination against individuals or groups based on protected characteristics.

Specific Prohibitions:

  • Hate Speech: Content that expresses hatred, contempt, or abuse toward individuals or groups based on protected characteristics

  • Protected Characteristics: Race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender, disability, serious illness, age, or veteran status

  • Slurs & Dehumanizing Language: Use of ethnic, racial, religious, gender, or sexual orientation slurs; dehumanizing comparisons or language

  • Extremist Content: Promotion of extremist ideologies, white supremacy, anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, or other hateful movements

  • Discrimination & Exclusion: Content promoting discrimination, exclusion, or segregation of protected groups

  • Conspiracy Theories (Hateful): Conspiracy theories that blame specific groups for societal problems (e.g., antisemitic tropes, racist theories)

  • Advocacy of Violence Against Groups: Calls for violence, harm, or action against individuals or groups based on protected characteristics

  • Denial of Atrocities: Denial or minimization of genocide, war crimes, or systematic persecution (e.g., Holocaust denial)

Why This Is Prohibited:

  • Violates Google and Ezoic policies strictly

  • Violates UK Equality Act 2010 and hate speech laws

  • Causes direct harm to marginalized communities

  • Damages social cohesion and safety

  • Violates The AI Journal’s values of inclusion and respect

Important Note: Criticism of ideologies, religions, or policies is not hate speech. Context, intent, and fairness matter.


Category 10: Shocking, Graphic & Disturbing Content

Definition: Graphic depictions of violence, gore, injury, death, or disturbing imagery without clear editorial or educational purpose.

Specific Prohibitions:

  • Graphic Violence: Detailed depictions of violence, gore, injury, or death; gratuitous displays of human suffering without educational context

  • Torture & Extreme Cruelty: Depictions of torture, extreme cruelty, or inhumane treatment

  • Accident & Disaster Footage: Graphic footage of accidents, disasters, or deaths presented for shock value without journalistic purpose

  • Animal Cruelty: Depictions of animal abuse, cruelty, or killing; content promoting animal harm

  • Suicide & Self-Harm: Graphic or sensationalized depictions of suicide or self-harm; content that may encourage such behavior

  • Disturbing Imagery: Graphic images designed primarily to shock or disturb rather than inform or educate

  • Mutilation & Gore: Explicit depictions of mutilation, dismemberment, or extreme bodily harm

Why This Is Prohibited:

  • Violates Google and Ezoic policies on violent and graphic content

  • May traumatize readers and vulnerable populations

  • Serves no educational or journalistic purpose

  • Can normalize violence and harm

Important Note: Legitimate news coverage of tragic events, educational medical content, or historical documentation may be appropriate with proper context and warnings.


Category 11: Intellectual Property Violations

Definition: Unauthorized use of others’ trademarks, brands, logos, or intellectual property.

Specific Prohibitions:

  • Trademark Infringement: Unauthorized use of others’ trademarks or brand names in a way that creates confusion or dilutes their brand

  • Logo & Brand Asset Misuse: Use of company logos, brand assets, or visual trademarks without permission

  • Patent Violations: Promotion or distribution of products or processes that infringe patents

  • Trade Secret Theft: Disclosure or use of confidential trade secrets or proprietary information without authorization

  • Plagiarism & Unauthorized Reproduction: Presenting others’ work as your own; copying substantial portions of copyrighted material

  • False Association: Falsely implying endorsement, partnership, or association with brands or companies

Why This Is Prohibited:

  • Violates intellectual property law

  • Creates legal liability for The AI Journal

  • Harms creators’ and companies’ rights

  • Violates Google and Ezoic policies

  • Damages trust and credibility


3. Imagery & Media Responsibility

3.1 Content Creator Responsibility

All contributors are responsible for ensuring they have proper rights, licenses, and permissions for all imagery, video, audio, and other media included in their submissions.

3.2 Acceptable Media Sources

Original Content:

  • Your own photographs, videos, or creations

  • Content created specifically for The AI Journal

  • Derivatives of your own original work

Licensed Content:

  • Adobe Stock

  • Shutterstock

  • iStock

  • Getty Images

  • Licensed stock providers (with valid license proof)

Royalty-Free Content:

  • Unsplash

  • Pexels

  • Freepik

  • Pixabay

  • Pixhere

  • Other verified royalty-free platforms

Creative Commons (with proper attribution):

  • Content licensed under Creative Commons with appropriate license type

  • Proper attribution to creator/license in article

3.3 Prohibited Media

  • Copyrighted material without license or permission

  • Licensed material where license has expired or does not cover intended use

  • Material from unknown or unverified sources

  • AI-generated imagery without clarity on training data and rights

  • Screenshots from copyrighted content (without fair use justification)

  • Content from social media without permission

  • Personal photos of identifiable individuals without consent

3.4 AI-Generated Media

  • All AI-generated imagery must be clearly disclosed as AI-generated

  • Ensure training data was sourced legally and ethically

  • Do not use AI-generated media that mimics copyrighted styles or infringes rights

  • Comply with applicable AI and copyright laws

3.5 Indemnification for Media

Contributors indemnify The AI Journal Ltd for any claims arising from:

  • Unlicensed, improperly licensed, or copyright-infringing media

  • Use of personal images without consent

  • Violation of third-party intellectual property rights

  • Misrepresentation of media rights or licenses


4. Compliance with Google Ad Manager & Ezoic Policies

The AI Journal adheres to and will enforce compliance with:

  • Google Ad Manager Publisher Policies: Including policies on sexual content, violence, dangerous content, copyright, and content quality

  • Ezoic Partner Guidelines: Including brand safety requirements, content standards, and compliance obligations

  • UK Media Regulations: Including Ofcom standards (where applicable), advertising standards, and media law

Content that violates these policies will not be monetized or may result in removal from The AI Journal platform.


5. Editorial Standards & Transparency

5.1 Accuracy & Fact-Checking

We are committed to accuracy and will:

  • Verify claims with credible sources

  • Correct errors promptly and prominently

  • Disclose corrections transparently

  • Maintain editorial integrity

5.2 Disclosure & Transparency

Contributors must disclose:

  • Conflicts of Interest: Financial interests, employment, or relationships that could bias coverage

  • Sponsored Content: Clearly labeled as “Sponsored,” “Advertorial,” or “Paid Partnership”

  • Affiliate Links: Any affiliate relationships or commission structures

  • Sponsorships: If a company or organization paid for or influenced the content

5.3 Editorial Independence

The AI Journal maintains editorial independence. Advertising partnerships, sponsorships, and commercial relationships do not influence our content decisions or editorial standards.


6. Enforcement & Consequences

6.1 Violation Detection

The AI Journal uses:

Second Offense:

  1. Pattern of violations noted

  2. Account suspended for defined period (7-30 days)

  3. Clear notice of consequences for further violations

  4. Contributor may request review or appeal within 10 business days

Third Offense or Severe Violation:

  1. Account terminated permanently

  2. All content by user reviewed and removed if non-compliant

  3. User barred from resubmitting or creating new accounts

  4. If illegal, referred to law enforcement

6.4 Appeals Process

Contributors may appeal enforcement actions by:

  1. Submitting Appeal: Emailing [email protected] with “Content Appeal” in subject line within 10 business days of enforcement

  2. Appeal Information: Detailed explanation of why the content complies with policy; specific policy provisions being cited

  3. Review: Editorial team reviews appeal within 10 business days

  4. Decision: Upheld, reversed, or modified with clear explanation

  5. Final Decision: Editorial decision is final; further appeals are not available

6.5 Immediate Removal (No Warning)

The following violations result in immediate removal without warning or appeal opportunity:

  • Child sexual abuse material or child exploitation content

  • Graphic violence or disturbing content (at editorial discretion)

  • Defamatory or harassing content targeting identifiable individuals

  • Hate speech or incitement to violence

  • Illegal content

  • Copyright infringement (upon DMCA notice)

6.6 Legal Action

The AI Journal reserves the right to pursue legal remedies for:

  • Copyright infringement

  • Defamation

  • Harassment or threats

  • Illegal content

  • Violations causing demonstrable harm


7. Special Provisions for Contributors & Partners

7.1 Contributor Acknowledgment

By submitting content to The AI Journal, you acknowledge:

  • You have read and understood this Prohibited Content Policy

  • All content complies with this policy and applicable law

  • You take full responsibility for your submissions

  • You indemnify The AI Journal from violations

7.2 Advertiser Compliance

Advertisers and advertising partners must:

  • Comply with all advertising standards and regulations

  • Provide only accurate, truthful information

  • Not use manipulative or deceptive practices

  • Respect user privacy and data protection laws

  • Include required disclosures (sponsored content, affiliate relationships, etc.)

Advertisers who violate these standards will have campaigns suspended or terminated without refund.

7.3 Partner & Affiliate Requirements

Any affiliate or promotional partners must:

  • Disclose all material relationships and compensation

  • Provide accurate information about products/services

  • Not use prohibited content or practices

  • Comply with FTC/ASA advertising standards

News coverage of sensitive topics (violence, tragedy, sexual abuse, etc.) may be published with:

  • Clear journalistic purpose and newsworthiness

  • Appropriate content warnings and age-gating (if necessary)

  • Avoidance of graphic or sensationalized depictions

  • Proper context and editorial judgment

  • Sensitivity to affected communities

8.2 Educational & Scientific Exception

Educational or scientific content on sensitive topics (sexual health, dangerous substances, medical procedures, etc.) may be appropriate when:

  • Presented from credible, qualified sources

  • Clear educational purpose

  • Appropriate age-gating or warnings if necessary

  • Compliance with professional standards

8.3 Historical & Documentary Exception

Historical or documentary content addressing past atrocities, violence, or injustices may be appropriate when:

  • Clear historical or educational context provided

  • Not glorifying or sensationalizing harm

  • Appropriate warnings for graphic content

  • Respectful to affected communities

  • Journalistic or scholarly merit

8.4 Criticism & Opinion Exception

Criticism, satire, and opinion content is protected unless:

  • Factually false and defamatory

  • Incites illegal activity or violence

  • Violates other prohibited content categories

  • Clearly opinion vs. presented as fact


9. Removal & Correction Process

9.1 Content Removal Notification

When content is removed for policy violation, the affected party will receive:

  • Clear notification of removal

  • Specific policy section(s) violated

  • Reason for removal with detail

  • Appeal process information

9.2 Content Correction

For errors or outdated information (not policy violations):

  • We may contact the contributor to suggest corrections

  • Prominent correction notices may be added

  • Updated versions may replace original content

  • Corrections are handled transparently

9.3 Archive & Records

  • Removed content may be archived for compliance and legal purposes

  • Contributors may request copies of removed content

  • Archives are retained for regulatory, legal, and historical records


10. Responsibility & Limitations

10.1 The AI Journal’s Role

The AI Journal:

  • Monitors and moderates content in good faith

  • Maintains editorial standards and compliance

  • Cooperates with law enforcement when legally required

  • Refers illegal content to appropriate authorities

However, The AI Journal is not:

  • Responsible for all user-generated content or comments

  • Able to guarantee all violations are caught (particularly with high volume)

  • Acting as legal counsel or fact-checker for all submissions

10.2 User Responsibility

Users are responsible for:

  • Reading and understanding this policy

  • Ensuring their own content complies

  • Reporting violations they encounter

  • Respecting others’ rights

10.3 Limitations of Enforcement

Due to the volume of content and technical limitations:
