Phoenix ME Announces Strategic Investment from H.I.G. Capital

LONDON – 11th August 2026 – Phoenix ME Limited (“Phoenix ME” or the “Company”), a leading UK provider of integrated mechanical and electrical engineering services across the Data Centres, Commercial, Infrastructure and Life Sciences sectors, today announces that it has received a strategic investment from H.I.G. Capital (“H.I.G.”), a major global alternative investment firm.

Founded in 1931, Phoenix ME has built a reputation for delivering the design, installation and commissioning of complex mechanical and electrical systems across some of the UK’s most iconic and technically demanding projects. The Company serves a diverse portfolio of blue-chip customers throughout the UK and Europe, with expertise in mission-critical environments including Data Centres and Life Sciences facilities.

With 95 years of history, Phoenix ME now delivers complex, high-value projects across the UK and Europe. This breadth of experience demonstrates the Company’s ability to adapt to the unique requirements of a diverse client base while delivering tailored solutions across projects of varying scale and complexity.

Over the past five years, Phoenix ME has achieved, on average, a year-on-year turnover growth of 25%, reflecting the strength of its business model and market position. The recent investment from H.I.G. Capital will provide further support for this continued expansion and future growth.

Data Centres continue to represent Phoenix ME’s largest market sector and have become an increasingly prominent part of the Company’s project portfolio over the last three years. At the same time, Phoenix ME remains committed to achieving balanced growth across its four key sectors, Data Centres, Commercial, Infrastructure and Life Sciences, reflecting its broad technical expertise and ability to support clients across a diverse range of complex projects.

As part of the investment, Lee Compton, CEO of Phoenix ME, will reinvest alongside H.I.G., reaffirming his dedication and long-term commitment to the business. The existing management team will continue to lead the Company’s next phase of growth, while Jim Arnold, an expert private equity CEO and Chair, will join as Non Executive Chairman, working closely with management and H.I.G. to support Phoenix ME’s strategic ambitions and next phase.

The investment provides Phoenix ME with the resources to accelerate its growth strategy, further strengthening its position in high-growth sectors while expanding its presence across the UK and Europe. The Company intends to build on its strong customer relationships and pursue organic growth opportunities and strategic project procurement.

The investment reflects growing demand for specialist engineering expertise across emerging markets. These industries have been experiencing sustained investment driven by digital transformation, technological innovation and increasing infrastructure requirements.

Importantly, the investment reinforces Phoenix ME’s long-term vision while maintaining continuity for its employees, customers and partners, making this a seamless transition. Phoenix ME will remain focused on delivering the quality, technical excellence and customer service that have underpinned its success for more than 95 years.

Lee Compton, CEO of Phoenix ME, comments “Phoenix ME has a long track record of quality and reliability and is a trusted partner for our sector’s largest and most reputable contractors and end customers. We are excited for the future and believe that by working closely with H.I.G., we can continue to deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients in our fast-growing end-markets.”

John Harper, Managing Director at H.I.G. Capital, continues “Phoenix ME’s end markets will enjoy rapid growth over the coming years. We are excited to partner with the Phoenix ME team to build on their already impressive track record of delivering high-value engineering services on these complex assets.”

Terry Hussey, Board Director at Phoenix ME comments on this investment highlighting “Our clients will be dealing with the same teams tomorrow as they were yesterday. What changes is what we can take on. We started in 1931 as an electrical contractor and now work across the UK and four European countries, and I see no reason to stop there. This gives us the resources and means to commit to larger and more complex programmes than we have ever taken on.”
