The report details the broad range of PENNโs Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) efforts, which focus on providing support for the Companyโs team members and their families, giving back to local communities and advancing sustainability practices to reduce its impact on the environment.
Key highlights of PENNโs 2023 CSR Report include:
- Donated more than $8 million in support of local charities and generated more than $17 million in economic development grants.
- Contributed more than $750,000 to Veteran and military-support focused nonprofit organizations between cash and in-kind donations and established a new military scholarship at Penn State Berks.
- PENN team members volunteered more than 9,500 hours to help those in need.
- Implemented a new Diverse Vendor Incubator Program and exceeded goals for diverse vendor procurement, with a total spend of more than $108 million.
- Launched โPENN Women,โ a new employee resource group to increase inclusivity and provide allies and mentorship at all levels of PENNโs workforce.
- Increased sustainability efforts, including completing the Companyโs first Scope 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventory review, updated our Scope 1 and 2 assessments and established a GHG reduction goal as part of our commitment to climate footprinting.
