Mopec Group Partners with LSU Health Shreveport to Deliver a Next-Generation Anatomy Education Lab

MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich., April 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Mopec Group, a leader in pathology and anatomy laboratory innovation, proudly announces the completion of a transformative anatomy lab renovation in partnership with the Department of Cellular Biology and Anatomy at LSU Health Shreveport.

The multi-year collaboration reimagined how anatomical sciences are taught by combining advanced lab design, integrated imaging technology, and optimized workflow to create a modern, scalable learning environment for future healthcare professionals.

What began as a vision to modernize a traditional anatomy lab evolved into a comprehensive redesign focused on visibility, engagement, safety, and instructional efficiency. The newly renovated space now supports more than 150 students across 34 fully equipped workstations, an expansion from just 32 students at the project’s inception.

At the core of the renovation are fully integrated student workstations featuring hydraulic cadaver carriers paired with Mopec’s high-resolution digital imaging system and software. Each station is also equipped with advanced video technology, allowing students to observe live dissections and unique case studies in real time from their own monitor while remaining seamlessly connected to the instructor’s workstation.

“This laboratory renovation is a major step forward in how we deliver anatomy education,” said Dr. Kevin McCarthy, Professor, Cellular Biology and Anatomy. “By working with Mopec to integrate the workstations and imaging technology, we can ensure that every student receives the same instruction at the same time, with the ability to immediately apply it at their own station. This is truly now a state-of-the-art facility that you will not see in most other medical schools”

Beyond equipment integration, Mopec worked closely with LSU stakeholders to simplify system controls and streamline how instructors manage camera views, content sharing, and communication across the lab. By reducing technological friction, educators can spend more time teaching and less time operating equipment.

The result is one of the most advanced anatomy labs in the country, purpose built not only for today’s class sizes, but for the continued growth of LSU Health Shreveport’s healthcare programs.

“At Mopec, we believe lab design should enhance the way educators teach and the way students learn,” said Francis X. Dirksmeier, CEO of Mopec Group. “Our role goes far beyond supplying equipment. We work alongside institutions to design integrated lab environments where tables, imaging, workflow, and safety features operate as one cohesive system. The project with LSU Health Shreveport is a strong example of how thoughtful lab planning and the right partnership can elevate the entire experience.”

As medical education evolves, Mopec remains committed to partnering with institutions across the country to design anatomy and pathology labs that improve safety, efficiency, and educational outcomes.
