BOSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Molina Healthcare (“Molina”), in partnership with The MolinaCares Accord (“MolinaCares”), has awarded a $120,000 grant to Hebrew SeniorLife to support fitness and behavioral health programming at senior living communities in Brockton, Cambridge and Medford.
The funding will support on-site services delivered through a place-based services model, which embeds care within residential and community settings to reduce barriers such as transportation and mobility challenges. The programs are designed to improve physical mobility, mental well-being, social connection and overall quality of life.
“We are deeply grateful for this investment in the well-being of the older adults we serve,” said Kim Brooks, executive vice president of senior living at Hebrew SeniorLife. “Support for fitness and behavioral health programming reinforces our commitment to whole-person care and helps residents stay active, connected and supported.”
Behavioral health programming will focus on reducing social isolation and building coping skills through group sessions addressing topics such as loss, uncertainty and managing chronic illness.
At Riverside Towers in Medford, the fitness program will engage residents in activities aimed at improving strength, balance, flexibility, cardiovascular health and functional movement. The program also includes health education and opportunities for social engagement.
“Strengthening our partnership with Hebrew SeniorLife allows us to meet seniors where they are and provide the services they need,” said Bill Graham, plan president for Molina Healthcare. “By removing barriers to care, we help older adults age with dignity and an improved quality of life.”
This grant marks Molina’s second major investment in the place-based services model at Hebrew SeniorLife. Previous grants totaling $300,000 supported an on-site wellness coordinator, community programming and staff training to conduct resident risk assessments and identify clinical needs.
