MITER Brands Announces Strategic Manufacturing Transition in South Florida

HARRISBURG, Pa.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–MITER Brands, a leader in residential window and door manufacturing, today announced a strategic realignment to its Florida operations, including:

  • relocating production lines from its Medley and Hialeah, FL, facilities to other MITER Brands facilities in Florida
  • the closure of its Medley and Hialeah manufacturing facilities, with operations expected to conclude in Q4 2025 and Q1 2026, respectively
  • opening a new, advanced glass manufacturing plant in South Florida, Pembroke Pines

These efforts align with the company’s focus on efficiency, innovation, and long-term growth.

Product Portfolio Optimization

As part of this strategic transition, MITER Brands will relocate production of its high-demand product lines to its other Florida facilities and sunset two product lines. This decision reflects the company’s ongoing efforts to streamline its offerings and focus on delivering market-preferred solutions that align with evolving customer needs and industry trends.

“By retiring certain product lines, our team is able to concentrate our resources on the products and technologies that offer the greatest value to our partners,” said Brian Covey, VP of Sales for MITER Brands. “With this focus, we’ve made substantial investments in nearby facilities to ensure we maintain the highest quality standards, while continuing to deliver the exceptional value our customers expect.”

Team Member Transition

With the closure of the Medley and Hialeah facilities, MITER Brands will aim to retain as many team members as possible through open positions at its other facilities. The company’s Talent Acquisition team will conduct resume and interview workshops, along with an internal job fair for available roles. Comprehensive relocation support will be provided for those moving outside of commuting distance. Additionally, external job fairs will be organized for team members seeking opportunities outside the company.

“Our teams in Hialeah and Medley have been instrumental in delivering the finest products, services, and customer experiences to our customers,” said Anthony Kassab, VP of Human Resources for MITER Brands. “Our priority is supporting them during this change and doing all we can to ensure they are well-equipped for continued success.”

Investing in South Florida’s Manufacturing Future

MITER Brands’ new glass plant in Pembroke Pines is expected to open in 2026 and will feature advanced glass manufacturing processes that will enable MITER Brands to build the next generation of residential window and door products. This investment underscores the company’s commitment to innovation and supporting the South Florida region with high-paying jobs, manufacturing high-quality products designed for coastal performance.

“With our long-standing presence and collaboration on building code development in Florida through our PGT brand, we have a deep understanding of the region’s design trends, code requirements, and ideal products for single-family and multi-family applications,” said Dean Ruark, SVP of Engineering and Product Development for MITER Brands. “This new plant will enhance our ability to provide high-quality, impact-resistant solutions tailored to local needs.”
