Military.com Launches its Investigative Reporting Fund

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Military.com announced the launch of its first ever fund dedicated to advancing investigative reporting that directly impacts service members, veterans, and their families. The Military & Veteran Journalism Fund will provide financial support for journalists to pursue stories that shed light on underreported, hidden or overlooked issues in the military and veteran community.


With this fund, Military.com is reaffirming their commitment to independent, fact-driven journalism that serves those who serve.

Details of the fund include:

  • Total Funding: $100,000 (Fund I)
  • Number of Grants: 10 recipients
  • Award Amount: Up to $10,000 per investigative story
  • Eligible Costs: Journalist’s time, travel, records/database fees, video production/editing (excludes equipment and routine expenses)
  • Application Deadline: Veterans Day, November 11, 2025

Proposals must outline the story’s premise, investigative approach, initial findings, and a clear milestone plan with an itemized budget. Military.com will prioritize projects that go beyond the surface – incorporating first-hand interviews, original datasets, photography, and videography.
