Industry media veteran, who founded The Digital Edge, will oversee the media agency’s operating structure
NEW YORK, Sept. 9, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Mediaplus North America, the media agency under Serviceplan Group, today announced that it is expanding its leadership team and has named Alan Schanzer as Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately. Based in New York, Schanzer will report directly to Tamara Alesi, CEO.
In his new role, Schanzer is responsible for overseeing the agency’s operational structure, growth initiatives and industry partnerships. He will also work closely with Serviceplan Group to ensure a cohesive strategic growth plan that aligns with global expansion.
“I have long admired Mediaplus and the work they have been able to produce in such a short amount of time,” said Schanzer. “Today’s media landscape is more complex than ever before, with fragmented audiences, rapid technological change and AI changing the rules of the game. I wanted to get back to the agency world to tackle these issues head on and Mediaplus felt like the perfect fit for me and the perfect time to get back to the agency side. Tam and her team have built an impressive agency with strong capabilities and a winning culture and I’m eager to dive right in to deliver extraordinary results for our client partners.”
Schanzer comes to Mediaplus from Amazon, where he served as Principle GTM Specialist for the Audio business and drove innovation and strategy in advertising for Audio, Music and Alexa. He has also held senior sales and partnerships roles at Warner Music Group, SiriusXM and Pandora, where he played a pivotal role in launching new revenue streams, integrating multi-platform offerings, and scaling organizations through transformative sales strategies. Most notably, at SiriusXM/Pandora, he led agency and advertiser partnerships that tripled ad revenues across all major global holding companies.
Schanzer is a veteran in the agency business, he began his career as Founder and Managing Partner at The Digital Edge at MEC Global (now WPP Media). In this role, he pioneered digital media strategy for major brands and helped shape GroupM’s digital blueprint. This is also where he first met Tamara Alesi, where together they pioneered integrated and linear planning.
“Alan is not only an incredible source of knowledge and inspiration for myself and this entire company, but he is also a very good friend who I always hoped to work with again. This is more than a new hire for me, it’s a reunion, a reinvention and a recommitment to excellence,” said Alesi. “Alan and I found success in our media framework many years ago and now we can come to the table with new experiences and an industry that has massively evolved to create more alternative approaches to the traditional holding company model that has long been broken. Alan’s ambitions and vision will fit right in with our team and I can’t wait to see the work we produce and the fun we have along the way.”
Schanzer is a well recognized thought leader in the industry, having been named a Mediaweek Media All-Star, an Ad Age Media Maven and one of MediaPost’s 50 Most Influential People in Advertising. He also remains committed to environmental advocacy through his leadership role with Nature Israel.
