Workers must not be collateral damage in Trump’s destructive trade war

WINDSOR, ON, April 4, 2025 /CNW/ – The Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) stands in solidarity with workers as they face the devastating consequences of new U.S. tariffs on the Canadian auto industry.

Following the announcement of the tariffs, Stellantis Windsor Assembly Plant workers were informed that the plant would shut down for two weeks beginning April 7, with further schedule changes anticipated.

This disruption creates significant uncertainty for workers and the broader industry, threatening livelihoods and economic stability.

To address these urgent concerns, CLC President Bea Bruske and CLC Executive Vice-President Siobhán Vipond will join workers at a press conference in Windsor to discuss the impact of the tariffs and demand government action to protect Canadian jobs.
