Leo Berwick Bolsters Financial Due Diligence Practice with Senior Hires in North America and India

New additions highlight firmโ€™s continued growth following 2024 FDD launch

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Leo Berwick, a premier global tax and financial advisory firm serving leading infrastructure, private equity and pension funds and their portfolio companies, today announced the expansion of its Financial Due Diligence (FDD) practice with senior hires in India and North America. Based in Gurugram, National Capital Region (NCR) of India, Mayanka Sharma has joined Leo Berwickโ€™s FDD team as the firmโ€™s first Country Leader, marking a key milestone in the firmโ€™s global expansion. Leo Berwick is also strengthening its North American FDD offering with the addition of Ryan Orme as Managing Director and Justin Liao as Director. Additionally, the firm is proud to bring on board Craig Wigginton, Erik Lange and Anthony Bohnert as Senior Advisors to support the FDD practice and the firm more broadly.

โ€œExpanding across India and North America will allow Leo Berwick to more effectively and efficiently meet client needs, especially as transactions across energy and infrastructure continue to demand deeper sector expertise and global coordination,โ€ said Nick Kato, Managing Partner of Leo Berwick. โ€œIt is critical we continue to invest in senior talent with proven transaction experience as we build a scalable, market-leading diligence platform. These are all exciting and important additions to our team.โ€

In her new role, Ms. Sharma will support Leo Berwickโ€™s North American clients with investments in India, as well as the firmโ€™s growing global client base. She has more than 18 years of experience in financial planning and analysis as well as consulting, having previously held FDD leadership roles at Big 10 consulting firms in India and the United States. Ms. Sharma has been instrumental in scaling up operations for Global Capability Centers in India.

Mr. Orme has more than 20 years of transaction advisory and financial due diligence experience, having led more than 200 buy-side and sell-side engagements. Mr. Liao has more than 13 years of accounting and transaction advisory experience, having led financial due diligence on more than 100 buy-side and sell-side transactions. Mr. Orme and Mr. Liao both bring deep sector experience across energy and infrastructure, with previous experience at leading global advisory firms as well as Big Four accounting firms.

Mr. Wigginton, Mr. Lange and Mr. Bohnert together possess more than 100 years of experience advising clients through complex transactions in the infrastructure and energy sectors. Mr. Wigginton has more than 35 years of experience advising clients in the telecommunications, media, and technology sectors, while Mr. Lange spent the past 29 years advising clients on topics including servicing concessions, venture formations, and structured leasing. Mr. Bohnert has more than 40 years of experience advising emerging growth companies, private equity funds, and strategic clients across the energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, and industrial sectors. All three previously worked at Big Four firms.

These latest hires underscore Leo Berwickโ€™s continued investment in building a scaled, sector-specialized FDD platform designed to support complex transactions across infrastructure and energy markets. Since launching its infrastructure and energy FDD practice in 2024, Leo Berwick has rapidly expanded the platform in response to strong client demand, growing the team from three professionals to more than 25 and supporting more than 70 buy-side and sell-side transactions.

โ€œWeโ€™re excited to welcome Mayanka, Ryan, and Justin to our infrastructure and energy FDD practice, and are thrilled that Craig, Erik and Anthony will provide our group and the entire firm a vast array of institutional knowledge,โ€ said Colin Schmidt, Leo Berwickโ€™s Head of Financial Advisory. โ€œOur practice has grown rapidly, but more importantly has proven to clients how essential our deep experience and attention to detail are to navigating the thorny challenges of due diligence.โ€

The hires also support Leo Berwickโ€™s continued expansion of adjacent transaction advisory capabilities, including financial modeling and Integration & Separation advisory services, enabling the firm to deliver comprehensive, end-to-end transaction support for clients. It also reflects the firmโ€™s broader strategy to build a differentiated alternative to the Big Four by combining senior-level attention, sector specialization, and an agile, solutions-oriented culture.
