ADA, Okla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–LegalShield has appointed technology executive Scott Clayton as Chief Product Officer and legal innovation expert Dan Lear as Vice President of Lawyer Services Relations. The appointments support the company’s mission to make legal help affordable and accessible for millions through its service model.




Scott Clayton: Engineering Product Excellence

In his role, Clayton will focus on delivering enhanced customer experiences that demonstrate the value of accessible legal protection for individuals and businesses across North America, while overseeing LegalShield’s companion identity protection service, IDShield.

Clayton joins LegalShield from A Place for Mom, where he served as Head of Product and led digital growth initiatives that helped more families find care. He also spearheaded efforts to simplify how advisors guide care seekers, making the experience more intuitive and supportive. Previously, Clayton led product management at Angie’s List (now Angi).

He reports to LegalShield CEO Warren Schlichting.

Dan Lear: Strengthening Legal Innovation

In his new role as Vice President of Lawyer Services Relations, Lear will oversee LegalShield’s network of 38 Provider Law Firms that deliver legal support to more than 4.5 million individuals across all 50 U.S. states and Canada.

Lear is an attorney and legal innovation executive who most recently served as Vice President of Partnerships at InfoTrack US, spearheading integrations with leading legal software platforms. He co-founded Gravity Legal (now Confido Legal), served as Director of Industry Relations at Avvo, practiced law as a technology transactions attorney, and worked in-house roles at Microsoft as a paralegal.

Lear reports to LegalShield COO, Ogemdi Ike.
