enhance resource management, and support future innovation ~
IPSWICH, Mass., April 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The Mary and John Gray Library at Lamar University has selected EBSCO FOLIO to support the evolving needs of its library operations and campus community. Based in Beaumont, Texas, Lamar University joins an expanding global network of institutions leveraging EBSCO-hosted FOLIO to simplify operations and foster innovation through open collaboration.
By implementing FOLIO with EBSCO Information Services’ (EBSCO) support, Lamar University is moving to a flexible, modern platform designed to streamline core library workflows while supporting collaboration, scalability, and future innovation. After more than 20 years with its previous ILS, the transition positions the Mary and John Gray Library to better manage print and electronic resources and adapt to changing user expectations.
Dr. Vivienne J. McClendon, Dean of the Mary and John Gray Library, says the move to EBSCO FOLIO is an investment in independence, innovation, and the future of library service at Lamar University. “FOLIO’s open-source system allows us to manage our data, tailor technology to our university’s needs, and benefit from a global community of collaboration and shared growth. With FOLIO, we’re building a flexible, sustainable foundation that keeps the Gray Library at the heart of learning and discovery.”
EBSCO SaaS Director, Greg Padilla says this implementation gives Lamar University access to FOLIO’s modular design, giving them the ability to create a system that is built with their workflow in mind. “Partnering with Lamar University as they adopt FOLIO, a platform built for flexibility, transparency, and long-term sustainability, marks an important step forward.”
The implementation is part of Lamar University’s broader efforts to support effective library services for students, faculty, and staff, while investing in technology that aligns with open standards and collaborative innovation.
