MINNEAPOLIS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#NJLLaw–Nilan Johnson Lewis (NJL) announced today that Jeffrey Wohl has joined the firm’s Labor and Employment group, adding significant depth to the firm’s California and national employment law and class and collective action defense team.
Based in the Bay Area, Wohl advises and defends clients in California and nationwide on employment law matters, including wage-and-hour, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, privacy and related class and individual actions. He brings decades of experience representing California, national and international organizations across industries, including retail, technology, biotechnology and financial services.
In addition to his litigation practice, Wohl is an accredited mediator with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and regularly serves as a private mediator, helping parties efficiently and constructively resolve high-stakes employment disputes.

Before joining NJL, Wohl served as a partner and chair of the San Francisco employment law practice at Paul Hastings LLP, where he was also one of the leaders of the firm’s national class action employment practice. A Fellow of the distinguished College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, he has been recognized by Best Lawyers for Employment Law and Labor and Employment Litigation; Chambers USA for Labor and Employment in California; and The Legal 500 United States for Labor and Employment Disputes.
Wohl is a frequent writer and speaker on employment law topics and has regularly presented to organizations including the National Employment Law Institute, the American Bar Association, the Society for Human Resource Management, the Practicing Law Institute and California Continuing Education of the Bar.
He earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School and his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley. Wohl is actively involved in pro bono and community service. He served for several years on the board of the United Way of the Bay Area and as its General Counsel and Chief Ethics Officer. He also provides pro bono legal services to Bay Area schools that serve children with special needs.
