In HPE’s opinion, this recognition reflects the sustained innovation of the HPE Alletra Storage MP portfolio to create a unified, intelligent data platform for all data and workloads
HOUSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–HPE (NYSE: HPE) today announced it was named a Leader for the 2025 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Enterprise Storage Platforms. This marks the 16th consecutive year of recognition as a Leader for HPE’s Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision.
“We believe this recognition by Gartner is not just a reflection of where we are today, but where we and our customers are headed tomorrow. We are relentlessly committed to innovating and executing on our bold vision to deliver a unified intelligent data platform that meets the evolving demands of enterprise’s hybrid cloud environments and business critical workloads including AI,” said Jim O’Dorisio, SVP and GM for Storage at HPE.
HPE delivers continuous innovation across industry-leading storage and data protection portfolio
HPE is shaping the future of enterprise data with a unified, intelligent data platform built on high-performance, scalable storage, AI-driven management, a unified global namespace, and enterprise-class data protection, all delivered through HPE GreenLake, a hybrid by design cloud experience. Recent innovations include:
- Ultra-fast, exabyte-scale, intelligent storage for unstructured data and AI: HPE Alletra Storage MP X10000 delivers software-defined, scale-out all-flash object storage with exabyte-scale capacity and easy management for AI, data-intensive initiatives, and ultra-fast data protection. The X10000 also offers built-in, automated metadata enrichment that accelerates AI data pipelines with intelligent data and an SDK for custom applications. With the X10000, HPE Alletra Storage MP is now a comprehensive storage platform that unifies block, file, and object storage on a single, disaggregated scale-out architecture capable of scaling from terabytes to exabytes. The X10000 integrates with HPE Data Fabric Software and its unified global namespace, creating consistent data management across an enterprise’s hybrid cloud data.
- Superior flexibility and economics with unified block and file storage: With the HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000, HPE became the industry’s first vendor to support disaggregated scale-out unified block and file on a single operating system (OS) and storage architecture, HPE Alletra Storage MP. HPE also expanded the B10000 with software-defined storage on Microsoft Azure—along with existing support for AWS—and support for HPE Morpheus VM Essentials.
- Industry-leading SLAs and expanded STaaS: HPE introduced new service-level guarantees for the B10000 that provide zero data loss and downtime, rapid ransomware recovery support, and energy-optimized performance. The B10000 also offers the industry’s first disaggregated, scale-out block and file storage with a 100% data availability guarantee, zero overprovisioning, 45 percent reduction in energy use and 40 percent cost savings1. HPE also expanded its Storage-as-a-Service (STaaS) offerings to give customers flexibility to move workloads from public clouds and to operate with air-gapped cloud experience in regulated environments.
- Enterprise-grade protection against cyber threats and data loss: HPE delivers holistic cyber resilience and data protection solutions focused on protection from data source to target and from edge to cloud. HPE expanded the X10000 for data protection with ultra-fast backup and restore performance, added new entry-level HPE StoreOnce offerings for small-and-medium-sized businesses, added built-in ransomware detection to the B10000 and launched a new cybersecurity Center of Excellence focused on detecting and validating storage systems against cyber threats. An upcoming integration hub for HPE Zerto Software will enable joint third-party solutions that generate insights, automate workflows and simplify data protection and disaster recovery.
HPE Alletra Storage delivers transformational results to customers
“The beauty of the new storage environment is that you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to manage the platform or provision storage. The platform simply works. Our focus can be service, not operations,” said Peter Lawry, IT Manager, Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute.
“Before, we spent around €25,000 to €26,000 every year on support for our aging storage system,” said Mark de Coo, senior IT specialist, DENSO International Europe B.V. “With the new infrastructure [HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000], we’ve eliminated those costs, and factoring in other resource efficiencies, I estimate we save about €50,000 to €60,000 a year.”
“With a hybrid cloud infrastructure [HPE Alletra Storage MP B1000], we’re able to remain in control of our data, enjoying better security and governance, ensuring best practices for every workload,” says Alan Harper, director of corporate technology, Shawbrook Bank. “It gives us the flexibility of not having to go all-in on either the cloud or on-premises. We can use the best of both.”
