Homecare Homebase Named 2025 McKnights Excellence in Technology Award Finalist

DALLAS, Sept. 9, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Homecare Homebase℠ (HCHB), the leading software provider for home-based care, has been named a finalist in the Building Bridges category of the 2025 McKnight’s Excellence in Technology Awards. This recognition reflects HCHB’s leadership in delivering innovative solutions that help agencies overcome operational challenges, improve efficiency and enhance patient care.

HCHB earned the finalist distinction for its work with the Visiting Nurse Association of Southeast Missouri (VNASEMO), a leading provider of home health care services. As part of the partnership, VNASEMO adopted HCHB’s Smart Scheduling solution to address staffing challenges that arose after the agency reduced its operations. Utilizing HCHB’s Smart Scheduling tool resulted in a referral uptick and 15% monthly ADC increase for VNASEMO.

In conjunction with implementing HCHB’s Smart Scheduling tool, VNASEMO also adopted HCHB’s Patient Visit Reminder tool in an effort to reinforce clinician accountability and ensure compliance with scheduled visits. The Patient Visit Reminder tool resulted in VNASEMO missing fewer visits and covering more visits earlier in the week, both results being extremely valuable benefits to VNASEMO.

“This recognition reinforces our mission to equip care providers with the tools, insights, and support they need to consistently deliver exceptional care and outcomes,” said HCHB President Luke Rutledge. “Our Smart Scheduling and Patient Visit Reminder solutions help agencies like VNASEMO not only address staffing and operational challenges, but also strengthen connections between care teams, patients, and families.”

The McKnight’s Excellence in Technology Awards Program, presented by McKnight’s Long-Term Care News, McKnight’s Senior Living and McKnight’s Home Care, recognizes providers and vendors that demonstrate how technology has improved care and operations. This year’s submissions were judged by an independent panel of 26 long-term care stakeholders.

“The McKnight’s Tech Awards are a great way for providers and vendor partners to highlight collaborative efforts that improve caregiving processes and operations,” McKnight’s Editorial Director John O’Connor says. “Whether it’s high or low tech, a small project or a big one, these efforts inspire peer organizations and help the industry address its biggest challenges. With a high-caliber set of entries showcasing cutting-edge tools and forward-thinking strategies, being named a finalist is a true reflection of innovation and leadership in senior care.”

Award winners will be announced during the virtual McKnight’s Tech Awards + Summit on September 16 – 17. The summit will include tech-focused educational webinars followed by the awards ceremony.
