GUNSENS Unveils Privacy-First, AI-Powered Gun Threat Detection Platform at GSX 2025

NEW ORLEANS, Sept. 25, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — GUNSENS today announced the debut of its privacy-first, AI-powered Gun Threat Detection Platform at GSX 2025. The system is designed to cut police response times from the national average of 18 minutes to mere seconds, dramatically improving outcomes in life-threatening emergencies.

At the heart of the platform are compact, tamper-proof, waterproof AI-powered gun threat detectors that identify threats instantly — in less than one second — whether installed in schools, workplaces, houses of worship, retail spaces, or public venues. Deployment is simple and inexpensive: GUNSENS AI-powered devices are scalable from a single device to thousands of devices anywhere cellular service is available, with no IT burdens.

At the moment an active threat is detected — either by a GUNSENS Gun Detector or through an SOS alert — the platform not only alerts nearby officers through the GUNSENS SOS app, it also updates the local police CAD system with floor plans showing the exact threat location — including floor number — and, for the duration of the active threat, the real-time positions of civilians, officers, and suspected shooters within the affected scene. This dual notification path ensures law enforcement has actionable intelligence within seconds.

Complementing these gun threat detectors are two additional components:

The GUNSENS SOS Panic Button — a wireless panic button that allows anyone to instantly summon help, even if their phone is locked or out of reach.

Citizen-Powered Live Video — GUNSENS app users near the threat scene can voluntarily stream live video (bodycam-style) to provide first responders with real-time situational awareness.

Retired Sheriff Greg Munks remarked, “Every second counts in an active shooter scenario. GUNSENS doesn’t just shorten response times — it delivers the kind of immediate, detailed information that can save lives.”

Peter Redford, CEO of GUNSENS, added, “Just as every building has smoke detectors, soon they’ll all have gun threat detectors. That’s the future of safety — and it’s here today.”

Attendees at GSX 2025 can schedule private demonstrations of the GUNSENS system by contacting the company directly.
