George Zahringer, Operationally Focused Private Equity Investor with 20+ Years of Experience, Joins Star Mountain Capital as Strategic Portfolio Partner

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Star Mountain Capital, LLC (“Star Mountain”), a rapidly growing, employee-owned investment firm with ~$5 billion in assets under management (โ€œAUMโ€), is pleased to announce it has expanded its portfolio optimization team with the addition of George Zahringer as Strategic Portfolio Partner. Mr. Zahringer brings over 20 years of operational private equity and private credit investing experience across industry sectors and business cycles as well as advisory and board experience and will work closely with the firmโ€™s investment teams to support value creation initiatives across the portfolio.




Mr. Zahringer focuses extensively on value creation strategies, including the development and execution of first 100-day, 300-day and 1000-day operating plans. His work has included establishing operating cadences, developing actionable reporting and key performance indicators, supporting business development and commercial growth initiatives, enhancing management teams, upgrading processes and systems and improving operations to support successful exits and investor returns.

Prior to joining Star Mountain, Mr. Zahringer was Co-Founder and Principal of AZ Private Ventures, a lower middle-market control private equity firm. The firm focused on applying operational value creation strategies to transform businesses and build scalable platforms.

Earlier in his career, he was a Principal at NexPhase Capital, a middle-market private equity spin out of Moelis & Company, where he contributed to investment sourcing, execution and operational initiatives across the firmโ€™s portfolio companies. Mr. Zahringer also served as a Principal at Aterian Investment Partners, a middle-market operationally oriented special situations firm. He was involved in investment sourcing, transaction execution, post-close value creation and portfolio management.

Mr. Zahringer began his career at Cerberus Capital Management ($65 bn AUM) where he participated in investment transactions across multiple sectors.

Mr. Zahringer graduated from St. Johnโ€™s College with a Bachelor of Arts.
