BOSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Fundación MAPFRE marked its 50th anniversary with a special celebration at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston October 1, bringing together community leaders, local partners and distinguished guests to honor five decades of global commitment to social well-being.
The evening highlighted the foundation’s partnerships in Massachusetts, where its work has supported programs advancing road safety, health, education and social equity. Two representatives of Fundación MAPFRE’s local partners, Dr. David Mooney of Boston Children’s Hospital and Kukua Duodu of Bottom Line, shared inspiring remarks about the foundation’s impact in the community and the lives changed through its support.
Other partners include UMass Memorial Medical Center, Massachusetts Department of Transportation, Best Buddies, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, the Academy of the Pacific Rim Charter School, One Goal, United Way of South-Central Massachusetts, Worcester Community Action Council, and the Real Madrid program at Webster Public Schools.
The celebration featured opening remarks by Jaime Tamayo, Chief Representative of Fundación MAPFRE in the United States and Chief Executive Officer of MAPFRE USA, followed by a program hosted by Boston television personality Jenny Johnson.
“As we reflect on fifty years of impact, I am deeply proud to recognize that in a business world often focused on growth and profitability, we stand for something more,” said Tamayo. “We stand for compassion. We stand for partnership. And together, we stand for a future where being different means making a difference.”
Among the distinguished guests were Her Royal Highness Infanta Elena of Spain, Elvira Vega, Managing Director of Fundación MAPFRE, and Antonio Huertas, Chairman and CEO of MAPFRE and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Fundación MAPFRE, who delivered heartfelt closing remarks. Mr. Huertas reflected on the foundation’s legacy and reaffirmed its enduring commitment to building a more inclusive, equitable and safe world for all.
The evening underscored Fundación MAPFRE’s role as a bridge between global vision and local impact, honoring both the foundation’s history and its continued mission to serve communities across the world.
