TOKYO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#CriticalInfrastructure—Forescout Technologies, a global leader in cybersecurity, today announced the appointment of Tsuyoshi Kitagawa as Regional Director and Country Manager for Japan. In this role, Kitagawa will lead the expansion of Forescout’s business in Japan, strengthen operations, and advance the company’s position as a strategic security partner to organizations navigating regulatory and operational demands.
Japan is undergoing a significant shift in its cybersecurity landscape, driven in part by the Active Cyber Defense Law, enacted in 2025 and will be implemented in stages through 2027. This requires critical infrastructure operators to report incidents to the government and enabling proactive, government-led threat neutralization. At the same time, Japanese organizations are facing increased risk across interconnected IT, OT, and IoT environments, driving demand for greater asset visibility, more resilient and tailored segmentation, and tighter control over east-west movement.
As Country Manager for Japan, Kitagawa will focus on helping Japan’s critical infrastructure sectors including power, oil and gas, telecommunications, finance, aviation, and manufacturing meet the requirements of the Active Cyber Defense Law, while strengthening cyber resilience across converged IT and OT environments. He will also build on Forescout’s existing strong customer footprint across power, finance, manufacturing, and government, while expanding the company’s channel partner ecosystem in Japan.
“With enforcement of the Active Cyber Defense Law approaching, asset intelligence and proactive threat detection are becoming essential for every major enterprise and critical infrastructure provider,” said Tsuyoshi Kitagawa, Regional Director and Country Manager for Japan, Forescout. “Forescout is uniquely positioned to help organizations gain visibility across IT, OT, IoT and IoMT environments, adopt Universal Zero Trust Network Access (UZTNA) at scale, and reduce cyber risk without disrupting operations. I look forward to working closely with our customers and partners to strengthen Japan’s cyber resilience.”
Kitagawa brings nearly 30 years of experience in the IT and cybersecurity sectors. Prior to joining Forescout, he served as Vice President and Country Manager for Japan at SonicWall and previously as Country Manager for Japan at Ivanti Software, where he drove significant business growth and organizational transformation. He has also held senior leadership roles at ServiceNow Japan, FireEye, Dell Technologies, and Symantec. His background across alliances, global accounts, and sales engineering will support Forescout’s accelerating growth in Japan.
“Forescout helps customers in Japan see every asset, prioritize the biggest risks, and enforce controls to reduce exposure and keep operations running,” said Rob Amezcua, Chief Revenue Officer, Forescout. “Japan is one of the world’s most important and sophisticated cybersecurity markets, and Kitagawa-san’s leadership comes at exactly the right time as demand accelerates for asset intelligence, identity-driven segmentation, UZTNA enforcement, and control over east-west movement across IT and OT environments.”
