MONTCLAIR, N.J., March 12, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Entropy Robotics, an AI-driven startup that develops autonomous software for robots and drones, announced today a strategic collaboration with SRI.
SRI is an independent research nonprofit organization with a proven history of supporting government and industry. SRI’s collaboration with Entropy is a natural fit, as SRI’s Center for Vision Technologies is a recognized leader in developing technologies for enabling alternative position, navigation, and timing (PNT) functionality.
As part of the collaboration, Entropy Robotics will receive intellectual property (IP) from SRI’s visual navigation suite, enabling autonomous navigation in austere and GPS-denied environments. This will strengthen Entropy Robotics’ mission to make robot and drone autonomy simpler, more powerful, and scalable via their low-cost software and sensor suite.
“We are thrilled to work with SRI,” said Chris Lemuel, CEO and cofounder of Entropy Robotics. “Their navigation technology suite, engineering expertise, and resources will be instrumental as we continue to make software-driven autonomy for robots and drones simpler, more cost-effective, and scalable. We look forward to integrating their technology into our stack as we make planning, training, executing, and analyzing autonomous operations accessible to the masses.”
“SRI pioneered GPS-denied navigation and alternative PNT technologies across diverse robotic and vehicular applications,” said Ryan Lewis of SRI Ventures. “Our work with Entropy Robotics represents a strategic expansion into the rapidly evolving unmanned aerial systems sector. Entropy’s cost-effective platform will enhance navigation, precision, and reliability across multiple industries and environments.”
