The technical product leader explains how he ships reliable products at scale, builds AI into engineering workflows, and what he plans to bring to the UK tech ecosystem.

He started as a Unity developer shipping mobile and PC games to 10M+ monthly active users across the USA, Europe and Asia markets, then moved into technical product leadership across gaming, Web3 platforms, and high-traffic consumer applications working with distributed systems, complex CI/CD pipelines, and cross-functional teams of up to 20 people. Today, as a Technical Product Manager at GiftHorse, he leads full-stack product delivery across engineering, QA, DevOps, analytics, and discovery while independently building multi-agent AI orchestration infrastructure and implementing AI-powered engineering pipelines, including automated code review, delivery estimation, and rapid prototyping systems.

Q: You started as a Unity developer on large-scale games. What did those early roles teach you?

A: That performance and maintainability are product features, whether anyone calls them that or not. In games, users feel every frame drop. When you’re serving 1M monthly active users, you can’t fake architectural discipline. On one project, we had an asset loader that caused 10s load delays on lower-end Android devices, affecting roughly 60% of our player base. I rearchitected the asset loading system to use addressables, which brought load time to under 10 seconds and improved Day 7 retention by 30% on those devices. That taught me something I carry into every role: if you don’t understand how a system behaves under load, you can’t fix it when it breaks.

Q: Can you share specific examples of engineering impact at scale?

A: Two come to mind.

First, I implemented an AI-powered code review system. Every commit is automatically analysed and scored, with improvement suggestions and bug-risk flags. It runs alongside human review and catches patterns that are easy to miss in larger changesets the types of issues reaching QA shifted from code-level defects toward higher-order integration concerns.

Second, we integrated AI into delivery estimation. The system analyses specs against historical sprint data to forecast timelines, significantly improving stakeholder forecasting accuracy and reducing planning overhead for senior engineers.

Q: You’ve built AI into your engineering pipelines. How do you use AI as a practitioner, not just as a concept?

A: AI helps most when it’s embedded into the workflow. At the pipeline level, we check every commit with AI scoring, flag potential bugs, and estimate delivery time. These are integrated into our daily process, not experiments. At the product level, AI helps me build functional prototypes quickly and test ideas without development team intervention, so we validate or kill feature directions in days instead of sprints. For spec preparation, AI surfaces edge cases and structure requirements before they hit engineering, cutting requirements-related rework by roughly 50%.

Q: What systemic risks do you see as AI-assisted development accelerates across the industry?

A: Three patterns, all well-documented. First, accelerated technical debt, as GitHub’s Copilot research and McKinsey’s 2024 generative AI report both note that faster output without proportional review investment compounds maintenance cost. The 2024 Stack Overflow Developer Survey confirms developer concerns about quality in AI-assisted outputs.

Second, AI-generated vulnerabilities. OWASP’s Top 10 for LLM Applications identifies insecure output handling and overreliance on LLM-generated code as emerging risk categories. AI-generated code can introduce subtle security issues, improper validation, insecure defaults, and flawed auth flows that look correct and pass casual review. This is why we built AI code review into our pipeline: a systematic check for the patterns humans miss under time pressure.

Third, the compounding effect in immutable systems. When a smart contract is deployed on-chain, mistakes are permanent and financially consequential. The Ethereum ecosystem has lost billions to contract vulnerabilities like bridge exploits, reentrancy attacks, and logic flaws. AI doesn’t create that risk, but amplifies it through false coverage confidence. A model generating syntactically valid Solidity does not guarantee economically secure logic. The common thread: AI shifts the bottleneck from generation to verification. Teams that adjust controls accordingly will thrive. Those who don’t will accumulate risk faster than they realise.

Q: You’ve worked across gaming, Web3, and consumer platforms. What does that cross-domain experience bring to the tech ecosystem?

A: Gaming taught me performance discipline under real-time constraints. Consumer platforms taught me scalability and operational readiness at high velocity. Web3 taught me the cost of irreversible mistakes in immutable systems. Combining those perspectives is rare; most engineers specialise in one domain.

I plan to contribute by building and shipping production-grade AI agent infrastructure, bringing engineering discipline to high-growth startups, and contributing to the AI engineering community through open-source work and mentoring.

Q: You’re building multi-agent AI orchestration systems independently. What problem are you solving?

A: Most AI tooling treats AI as a single assistant. But real work requires coordination between multiple specialised agents that can plan, execute, hand off context, and recover from failures autonomously. I’m building an orchestration agent lifecycle management, task routing, context isolation, fault handling, the same patterns you’d use for distributed systems, applied to AI agent coordination. As AI moves from demos to production, the bottleneck shifts from “can an LLM generate code” to “can you reliably orchestrate multiple AI actors in complex workflows without human babysitting.” That’s a systems engineering problem, and it’s largely unsolved.

Q: What’s your advice to technical product leaders adopting AI responsibly?

A: Start with a specific problem, not a technology mandate. Embed AI where it adds systematic value like code review, estimation, prototyping, spec preparation and keep review and validation exactly as strict as before. The teams that succeed with AI get faster without getting shallower. Keep ownership clear, reviews rigorous, and release discipline tight. Do that, and AI becomes a genuine competitive advantage for your team, your product, and your users.
