Elevate Studios Unveils Nevertheless: Docuseries Spotlighting Fearless Women Changemakers

Debuting on YouTube during Women’s History Month, the new three-part docuseries spotlights Elevate Prize winners driving global change, marking Elevate Studios’ first production.

MIAMI, March 25, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — TheĀ Elevate Prize Foundation, a global nonprofit on a mission to Make Good Famous, launchedĀ today the premiere of its first docuseries, Nevertheless: The Women Changing the World, produced under its storytelling and production arm, Elevate Studios. Debuting on YouTube during Women’s History Month, the Nevertheless series dives into inspiring stories of women changemakers from around the globe, each of whomĀ persisted by breaking barriers, challenging oppressive systems, and creating a ripple effect that is reshaping the world for the better.

NeverthelessĀ spotlights three women ā€“ Teresa Njoroge, Cindy Eggleton and Dr. Aparna Hegde, each a recipient of the Elevate Prize, an annual award that provides social entrepreneurs and changemakers with the funding, visibility, and resources needed to scale their impact. Through a blend of interviews and compelling behind-the-scenes footage, each episode offers an unfiltered look at one visionary woman’s work, showcasing her struggles, victories, and unshakable determination to create lasting change.

“We are incredibly proud to premiere our first production, Nevertheless, during Women’s History Month, a time when we honor generations of determined leaders who have created highly effective solutions impacting millions of people along with the trailblazers who stand up to the forces trying to hold them back,” said Carolina GarcĆa Jayaram, CEO of the Elevate Prize Foundation. “It is more critical than ever that we tell these stories as women’s progress is being thwarted in many parts of the world and rights are being threatened. These aren’t just stories ā€“ they each bring to life the ways these extraordinary Elevate Prize winners are driving meaningful change. And that impact is evident out the gate: our first story features Teresa Njoroge who is breaking cycles of injustice for incarcerated women in Kenya. Their storiesā€”and those of the other changemakers featuredā€”are proof of what’s possible when courage meets passion. We are calling upon audiences to stand with these leaders, share their impact, and be a part of a larger global movement for good.”

Directed by Ramy and Sharra Romany (Romany Films) and produced by Eva Bloomfield (Elevate Prize Foundation), the first episode premieres today on YouTube. New episodes will be released on subsequent Tuesdays through April 8.

  • Episode 1 (debuts March 25): Teresa Njoroge, Clean Start Africa ā€“ A social entrepreneur working with women, girls, and children impacted by the criminal justice system. A successful businesswoman and mother to an infant, Teresa was wrongfully incarcerated for a crime she didn’t commit. She was later exonerated but was forever changed by the plight of the women and girls she met behind bars and now dedicates her life to tackling the criminalization of poverty and prejudices towards women in the Kenyan criminal justice system. Teresa is a fierce believer that policy reform is crucial to create a pro-women society.
  • Episode 2 (debuts April 1): Cindy Eggleton, Brilliant Cities ā€“ A changemaker who came from poverty herself, is building affordable, sustainable, and equitable cities of the future through a scalable, neighborhood-powered model. With, for, and by the community ā€“ Brilliant Cities works and hires staff from within the neighborhoods they serve, creating local hubs of support and resources, successfully transforming and building thriving neighborhoods that are advancing early childhood education and changing population level poverty in Detroit, and beyond.
  • Episode 3 (debuts April 8): Dr. Aparna Hegde, Armman ā€“ A pioneering healthcare leader using technology to improve maternal and child health outcomes in India. Aparna conceived and scaled up the world’s largest system of mobile phone networks for maternal and neonatal medical information and healthcare training. The networks help tens of millions of women access critical information and care, saving countless lives, and changing the experience of pregnancy and childbirth from fear and trauma to hope and empowerment.

“It is truly an honor to have our work at Brilliant Cities featured alongside such powerful testimonies from women changemakers across the globe. Change is possible when communities and the people that live in them are at the center. Storytelling like what Nevertheless brings forward is critical because it changes culture, and builds needed empathy and understanding so that we can focus on what can happen when we come together around our children, families, and each other. I truly believe this will help create the world of connection we all need.”

“There is a collective yearning for stories that inspire,” said Eva Bloomfield, Chief Marketing Officer of the Elevate Prize Foundation and producer of the Nevertheless docuseries. “With misinformation and division dominating headlines, these narratives are all the more essential: they challenge us, bring us together, and show us what is possible. That’s why we are launching this docuseries on YouTube ā€“ to ensure these voices and experiences are accessible to everyone. We are so honored to shed a light on these remarkable leaders and their courageous journeys. They remind us that hope is not lost and, instead, show us the good we are all capable of ā€“ and that is the power of story.”
