Global Travel Industry Embraces Autonomous UVD Robots

Disinfection robot provider, UVD Robots, announced in a press release that it has recently deployed its autonomous robot within hotels, airports, and railways with the aim to control and decrease the infection rate within the global travel industry.

The mobile and fully autonomous disinfection robot provider wrote that airports, hotels, and railways are looking to autonomous, disinfection robots as a way to reinforce safety, peace of mind, and support the travel industry recovery.

Per Juul Nielsen, CEO of UVD Robots explained why its disinfection robots are being introduced into the global travel industry by saying: “As the travel and hospitality industry looks to bring travellers back, they are working to meet new and heightened expectations for safety and cleanliness in order to build trust. Because our UVD Robots are simple, safe, and effective, we are working with an increasing number of hotels, airports, railways and others to bring hospital-grade disinfection solutions to these facilities. We couldn’t be more thrilled than to play a role in the recovery of this industry.”

A recent forecast by the U.S. Travel Association predicted there will be $505 billion in losses globally for the coming year through to the end of 2023 within the travel industry. However, measures such as the ones UVD Robots are putting in place leaves the possibility for a lower figure.

The disinfection robot provider is not the only robot provider developing solutions with Robotic Assistance Devices announcing in July 2020 that it’s received its first order for its health screening robot called Wally.

UVD Robots’ mobile, fully autonomous robot integrates UVC light and a large number of disinfection-specialized apps to disinfect against viruses and bacteria not only on surfaces but the air as well, providing a fully comprehensive infection control and prevention solution.

The disinfection robot has introduced its UV-C light robots to hospitals with a warm welcome that it claims has led to its sales increasing since the beginning of 2020 with the UVD robots becoming progressively more in demand across various industries.

With the claimed success in other areas, the disinfection robot provider is now targetting other industries to incorporate its disinfection robots.

Trish Berry, General Manager at YOTEL’s Boston branch, which has introduced UVD Robots, commented on why it’s using the disinfection robots by saying: “Right now it’s critical for the hospitality industry to not only enhance how we protect travelers but also provide them with the reassurance that we’re taking every possible step from check-in to check-out.”

YOTEL is not the only business and location using UVD Robots disinfection technology with other places including Clarion Hotel and Congress Copenhagen Airport, Gerald R. Ford International Airport, Heathrow Airport, and St. Pancras International train station all using the disinfection robot providers UVC light robots.

The disinfection robot provider noted in the press release that it has several additional projects that are currently being carried out in the global travel industry with projects in the Middle East which include the Hamad International Airport in Qatar.
