Bright Data, a web data infrastructure company behind some of the internet’s most widely used scraping and extraction tools, today launched a free version of their popular Web MCP, an infrastructure layer that allows AI agents to interact with the live web without getting blocked.
The Web MCP acts as a bridge between AI agents and the open web, letting them pull live information, bypass CAPTCHAs and geo-restrictions, and interact with dynamic sites without getting blocked. The result: agents can finally work with the real-time internet instead of static datasets.
“The internet wasn’t designed for agents, but The Web MCP is. Agents often fail simply because they lack proper access,” said Or Lenchner, CEO of Bright Data. “By making The Web MCP freely available to the public, we’re opening the gateway to the internet that serves both humans and machines alike.”
The tool has been in private beta for the past three months with 15,000 developers and is already powering more than 100 million daily agent interactions. Starting today, anyone can sign up and get a free tier of 5,000 monthly requests that renew automatically.
The Web MCP supports all major LLMs, local models, and development frameworks like LangChain, CrewAI, and LlamaIndex. Developers can choose between two modes:
- Rapid Mode: for fast, token-efficient search and extraction tasks.
- Advanced Mode: for remote browser control, multi-step site automation, and structured content retrieval. Available via paid plans.
Bright Data says The Web MCP opens up use cases like real-time travel booking, competitor monitoring, compliance tracking, healthcare research aggregation, and social sentiment analysis.
Key features of the company’s platform include:
- Real-time data fetching from any site
- CAPTCHAs and bot defense bypass
- Structured JSON output
- Automation for dynamic sites
- Simple plug-and-play setup for MCP-compatible agents
The launch positions Bright Data at the center of one of AI’s thorniest infrastructure challenges: giving agents consistent, scalable access to the live web without triggering anti-bot defenses.
