During a SAMI assessment, construction firms are evaluated on the implementation of their sustainable building practices. Areas assessed are actions within Builders’ control, and include carbon, health and wellness, waste management, water management, and materials. Following the assessment, they receive a personalized report which includes an overall SAMI score and individual scores across all categories. The report compares a contractor’s sustainable building practices adoption against current industry trends and a hand selected group of peers.
According to Ms. Hanes, year over year, the SAMI provides a roadmap for sustainable building practices advancement, tracking progress over time so clients can reach and remain at the cutting edge of construction sustainability.
