I started my civil service career 10 years ago, with the Ministry of Defence, procuring medical supplies and services to support Medical Logistics Flight Operations at the 48th Fighter Wing, RAF Lakenheath. After five years, learning all aspects of medical logistics flight operations, I was selected above peers to effectively procure and manage the 48 Medical Support Squadron’s medical equipment and services. As Medical Equipment Manager, I managed US Air Force Europe’s largest equipment account, overseeing $26.6 Million in inventory/3.5K items, 210 custodians across 4 Wings and 3 clinics, and served as the liaison between 32 Flights and the Air Force Medical Operations Agency. After 8 and a half years with the Ministry of Defence, I sought commercial opportunities where I could be of more value to the public sector and I was excited to join Crown Commercial Service in 2018, as a Digital Commercial Agreements Specialist on the Digital Future team. I was responsible for the management of our Digital Outcomes and Specialists framework and Procurement Operations lead for our Quality Assurance and Testing Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) agreement, in collaboration with the Home Office. I was recently promoted to Category Manager on the Digital Future team at Crown Commercial Service, where I led procurement operations for our newly launched Artificial Intelligence DPS agreement, supporting our emerging markets category strategies. Since my time at CCS and as an active member of my organisation's Race Equality Network, I had the exciting opportunity of accompanying our CEO and Cabinet Office Race Champion, to visit Number 10 Downing Street for a Race Champion and Inclusion & Diversity event late last year. This was one of a series of sprints to focus on intersectionality of women and ethic minorities in the Civil Service. As a civil servant, I am passionate about public sector procurement, using my skills and knowledge to maximise commercial benefit and achieve value for money within the public sector. I have a keen interest in policy. In my freetime I enjoy reading/writing, cooking, fitness, nature and outdoorsy things.
