Dextr AI nabs $6.7M to bring Palantir-style forward-deployed AI to hotel chains

For decades, the enterprise software playbook in hospitality followed a predictable script: build a point solution, sell the subscription, hand over the login credentials, and hope the customer figures out how to use it.

In an industry burdened by extreme staff turnover and fragmented legacy infrastructure, that self-serve SaaS model has largely failed. Hotel managers don’t have the bandwidth to configure complex workflows or troubleshoot disconnected systems, leaving millions of dollars in software to become expensive shelfware while operational costs continue to climb across an industry employing roughly 38 million workers in the U.S. alone.

Dextr AI believes the solution requires a fundamental shift in how enterprise technology is delivered. Borrowing a strategy popularized by defense and big-data giant Palantir, Dextr is championing a “forward-deployed” AI model. embedding engineers and AI strategists directly into customer operations to design, integrate, and deploy tailored AI workforces.

To scale this high-touch approach, Dextr announced today that it has raised $6.7 million in seed funding led by Elevation Capital, with participation from Foundation Capital.

Bridging the Gap Between Complex AI and Frontline Operations

The core thesis behind Dextr’s forward-deployed strategy is simple: software must bend to the unique realities of a property’s operations, not the other way around.

Rather than expecting hotel staff to adapt to rigid software interfaces, Dextr sends AI engineers to map a property’s specific workflows, integrate directly into legacy Property Management Systems (PMS) and phone hardware, and deploy customized AI agents designed for that exact portfolio.

“Hospitality operators face a deep staffing shortage that leads to gaps in service, revenue leakage, and overworked staff,” says Sajid Shariff, founder and CEO of Dextr AI. “Our forward-deployed teams uncover high-ROI use cases and embed our technology deep within the business. The revenue team, the general manager, the maintenance crew, each directs the same AI workforce in their own words, within the guardrails their organization sets. The technology finally bends to the operation.”

Once the forward-deployed team establishes the integration layer, daily control is handed over to property employees through Doss Gen 1, a newly launched command layer that allows non-technical staff to control specialized AI agents simply by texting or speaking in plain language.

Specialized Agents Driven by Deep Integration

Because Dextr’s engineers configure the operational plumbing upfront, their specialized AI agents can perform far beyond standard, surface-level chatbots:

  • Doss (Command Layer) provides a seamless, natural-language interface for employees to manage the entire AI workforce without needing any training.
  • Daisy (Voice & Reservations): Handles complex, multi-lingual phone bookings and upsells in over 90 languages while processing PCI-compliant voice payments—already driving tens of millions of dollars in phone reservations monthly.
  • Alfred (Guest Management): Manages contactless check-ins, coordinates guest requests, and resolves service issues proactively to protect online review scores.
  • Manny (Back-Office Operations): Takes over complex administrative burdens by building daily labor rosters, tracking worker productivity, flagging overtime risks, and conducting financial audits.
  • Cosmo (Growth & Direct Bookings): Drives direct booking campaigns, executes win-back initiatives, and captures group event sales leads.

Turning Deployment Strategy into P&L Metrics

Dextr’s insistence on a forward-deployed model is aimed directly at solving the hospitality industry’s core bottleneck: proving immediate, quantifiable ROI to property owners and private equity operators.

By having engineers tailor agents to specific property pain points, Dextr customers are seeing results that show up directly on the bottom line:

  • 49x ROI on Enterprise Voice: A central reservation contact center generated $80,000 in incremental revenue within 60 days of forward-deploying Dextr’s voice agents into its complex live booking system.
  • 8% EBITDA Lift: A six-property hotel portfolio eliminated 1,200 redundant labor hours through automated task routing and labor scheduling.
  • Operating Cost Reductions: A destination resort saved $120,000 annually while maintaining a 92% guest satisfaction score.
  • Reputational Upside: 100% of properties deploying Dextr’s guest management agent increased their Online Travel Agency (OTA) ratings, averaging a 0.4-point lift within 90 days.

Already, Dextr’s platform automates over a million interactions every month across hundreds of properties in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and Europe, including franchised locations under global flags like Hilton, Wyndham, Best Western, and IHG.

“The speed at which Dextr is winning in hospitality is a testament to the urgency of the problem and the power of their deployment model,” says Krishna Mehra, Partner at Elevation Capital. “Sajid and Scott bring deep customer empathy alongside technical sophistication. They deliver immediate, measurable ROI, the kind an operator sees directly on the P&L statement.”

Co-founded by Shariff, a veteran startup operator with extensive hospitality experience, and CTO Scott Arnold, former engineering lead at Meta, Dextr has assembled a 20-person team of veterans from McKinsey, BCG, Meta, Harvard, and Stanford. With its new seed capital, the company plans to expand its forward-deployed engineering capacity to accelerate enterprise implementations across major global resort portfolios and hotel groups.
