Carbon Assessors Expands Alberta TIER Coverage with Launch of Daily Spot Index

CALGARY, AB, April 1, 2026 /CNW/ – Carbon Assessors today announced the launch of its Daily Alberta TIER Spot Index, expanding on its established monthly index to provide market participants with more timely and actionable carbon pricing intelligence.

Since introducing its monthly Alberta TIER spot index, Carbon Assessors has delivered transparent, reliable pricing benchmarks to support compliance and trading decisions in the Technology Innovation and Emissions Reduction (TIER) market. The new daily index builds on this foundation, offering a more granular view of day-to-day price movements and liquidity conditions.

The Daily Alberta TIER Spot Index will leverage transaction and indicative data from leading carbon brokers, including Tradition Financial Services (TFS) and OX CO2, to ensure robust market coverage and enhanced price discovery. By incorporating high-quality broker data, the index is designed to reflect real trading activity and prevailing market sentiment.

With improved visibility into short-term price dynamics, compliance entities, traders, and advisors can better understand daily trends, optimize the timing of purchases and sales, and potentially lower overall compliance costs. The daily index also provides a consistent reference for valuation, risk management, and reporting needs.

“The Alberta TIER market continues to evolve, and participants increasingly need high-frequency, high-quality data to navigate it effectively,” said Albert Ho, Head of Carbon Intelligence at Carbon Assessors. “Our daily index provides the transparency and insight required to make more informed, confident decisions in a rapidly changing carbon market.”

The Daily Alberta TIER Spot Index will be available beginning April 1, 2026, via Carbon Assessors’ online platform. Additional analytics and reporting solutions linked to the daily index will be introduced over the course of the year.
