Seven IBM Executives Join Detroit Author Ida Byrd-Hill at Detroit Regional Chamber to Address Why 95% of AI Pilots Fail

Culture Re-Wired: Unleash Your Inner AI CEO event brings together IBM’s top AI, data, and responsible business leaders with Detroit-area executives for a rare hands-on AI workforce transformation session

DETROIT, March 25, 2026 — A recent MIT report revealed that 95% of generative AI pilots at major companies are failing. On Thursday, March 26, 2026 seven IBM executives and Detroit-based author and CEO Ida Byrd-Hill are gathering at the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce headquarters to offer business leaders a proven roadmap out of that failure.

The event, Culture Re-Wired: Unleash Your Inner AI CEO, runs from 8:30–10:30 AM and features a keynote presentation by Byrd-Hill and Veronica Moyer, AI Leader at watsonx Americas at IBM, followed by interactive breakout coaching sessions led by six IBM senior executives.

According to Pew Research Center, 52% of employees fear AI will eliminate their jobs — and given current failure rates, those fears may be justified. Byrd-Hill argues the solution is not more technology but a fundamental rewiring of corporate culture.

“AI is a cultural movement, not a tech revolution,” said Byrd-Hill, CEO of Automation WorkzInstitute and author of Culture Re-Wired: Unleash Your Inner AI CEO. “Corporate culture is the unseen bedrock that separates AI gold mines from AI money pits. Front-liners and middle managers hold the keys — not the C-suite alone.”

The Case for Culture-First AI Transformation

Byrd-Hill’s book showcases 22 company case studies with measurable ROI data, including IBM watsonx client zero project that generated $566 million in revenue and cost savings and Dr. Bronner’s — the iconic natural soap brand found on shelves at Costco, Kroger, Target, and Walmart — which grew revenue 45% after implementing a culture-forward AI strategy developed with Automation Workz.

Literary Titan awarded the book five stars, writing: “I’d recommend this book to managers, executives, and anyone who feels anxious about AI creeping into their job. It isn’t a technical manual. It’s about mindset — equal parts practical advice and rallying cry.”
