BOSTON & NEW YORK & LONDON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Wellington Management (“Wellington”), one of the world’s largest independent investment management firms with over US$1.3 trillion AUM, today announced the appointment of Michael Trihy, CFA, as Head of Portfolio Management, Venture Growth Evergreen, Private Investments.
In this position, Mr. Trihy will lead the expansion of Wellington’s evergreen private investing capabilities for private wealth clients. He will manage portfolio construction and capital allocation across direct growth and venture investments, secondaries, and select fund investments.
Wellington’s Private Investing platform manages more than US$9.7 billion in assets and invests globally across venture capital, private credit, and private real estate in multiple stages and has made 302 investments across nine sector-focused areas.i
Mr. Trihy joins Wellington with 15 years of private equity and asset management experience. He was most recently director and portfolio manager at Bow River Capital, where he helped scale their evergreen private-markets platform while overseeing the fund’s portfolio management activity across co-investments, secondaries, and primary fund investments. Previously, he served as a portfolio manager at Partners Group, overseeing portfolio construction and asset allocation for evergreen products and custom separate accounts. He also worked at Red Rocks Capital and FirstBank.
