The Strike at Villa Colombo Homes for the Aged Draws Closer to a Resolution as Talks Resume

TORONTO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The union representing striking workers at the Villa Charities owned Villa Colombo Homes for the Aged in Toronto are hopeful that their strike, now in it’s second month, might soon come to an end. The 25 personal care workers of CUPE Local 5525 have been on strike since May 28th, after talks broke down.


The Union and employer met for the first time since the strike began on July 29th. The parties are scheduled to meet again on Friday, August 1st.
