Secured Finance Network to Host 81st Annual Convention

Amid a period of heightened uncertainty, this year’s event arrives at a defining moment for the secured finance industry.

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The Secured Finance Network (SFNet) will host its 81st Annual Convention from November 11–13, 2025, at the JW Marriott Los Angeles, CA, convening more than 800 secured finance professionals from around the world for three days of connection, insight and opportunity.

SFNet’s 2025 Convention comes at a pivotal moment for the secured finance industry. The recent bankruptcies of First Brands and Tri Color have sent ripples through the market, prompting fresh questions about the sector’s outlook as lenders and borrowers alike navigate a period of heightened uncertainty.

“As our industry continues to evolve, SFNet’s Annual Convention remains the essential forum for collaboration and insight,” said Rich Gumbrecht, CEO of SFNet. “It’s where the most influential leaders in secured finance come together to address both the short and long-term challenges, seize new opportunities, and shape the direction of this critical trillion dollar industry.”

For secured finance professionals, the return on investment of attending SFNet’s Annual Convention is unmistakable: access to industry leaders, new business opportunities and strategic perspectives that drive growth. From general sessions, functional roundtables, to networking experiences, the Convention provides an unparalleled environment to forge relationships and generate meaningful deal flow.

“As our industry adapts to new technologies, regulations, and market forces, the Convention stands as a cornerstone for both learning and leadership,” said SFNet’s newly elected President Betty Hernandez. “Education is at the heart of progress in secured finance. It empowers professionals at every level to anticipate change, strengthen our collective expertise, and drive the industry forward with integrity and innovation.”

A timely session will bring together leading voices to explore the implications of the recent high-profile bankruptcies cases, offering practical insights into how asset-based lending (ABL) and factoring are evolving amid rapid technological change and shifting economic conditions. The panel, “View from the Top: Bank ABL, Factoring and Independent ABL” will be moderated by financial consultant Carrie Jenkins and feature Kurt Marsden, EVP & Head of Capital Finance, Wells Fargo; Jason Anish, President & CEO, Austin Financial Services, Inc.; and Tina Capobianco, SVP, Operations, J D Factors LLC.

Hundreds of executives and industry professionals are registered, representing banks, independent finance companies, alternative lenders, and service providers from across the globe.
