RMX Demonstrates VAST™ at Tough Stump Rodeo

DALLAS, Sept. 22, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — RMX Industries, Inc. (“RMX” or the “Company”) (OTCQB: RMXI) demonstrated its VAST™ (Video Adaptive Systems Technology) platform at Tough Stump Rodeo 2025 in Alder, Montana (held June 2–6), a field event that tests communications equipment in rugged, real-world conditions. VAST™ is a software, standards-based video encoder that keeps the edge-to-core data flow intact so video quality and utility are preserved for human operators and AI systems, even under weak networks and constrained bandwidth.

RMX field results:

  • Five simultaneous HD video streams (from drones and ground cameras, UAS/ISR/Recce) over a single L-band MANET at roughly 350–500 kbps per stream.
  • Long-distance relay to the operations center: live drone video streams over a 1.25 MHz, multi-hop, beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) TrellisWare MANET to support search-and-rescue (SAR) coordination.

This means RMX streams HD video over radio networks while other solutions rely on satellite connectivity. We believe this puts RMX in a differentiated position to deliver real-time video when satellite is unavailable, congested, or cost prohibitive.

“Over the toughest networks, VAST™ carries mission-ready video, freeing airtime while keeping streams usable for operators and analytics,” said John Dames, CTO at RMX.

VAST™ is a real-time AV1 encoder that runs CPU-only in a hardware-agnostic design on low-power x86/ARM devices (Raspberry Pi 5), integrates with TAK (including AV1 RTP playback in TAK v5.5), and streams via UDP multicast or RTSP across HF, SINCGARS, MUOS, UHF TACSAT, LTAC, and other tactical bands. Through partnerships with leading drone OEMs and MANET/SATCOM providers, RMX pairs VAST™ with airframes and radios to deliver resilient FMV, C2, and edge AI on austere links, preserving video quality while lowering bandwidth and power, and provides a clear path from pilot to program across ISR, multi-drone, and TAK/C4ISR deployments.

About Tough Stump Rodeo
Tough Stump Rodeo is a hands-on proving ground in Alder, Montana where technology vendors, military and public-safety operators, and industry observers put tactical communications, drones/UAS, TAK workflows, MANET/mesh radios, and robotics through real-world, low-coverage scenarios. Unlike a typical expo, teams demonstrate performance in rugged terrain and variable weather to validate resilience, interoperability, and mission effectiveness under austere conditions. The 2025 event ran June 2–6 and emphasized solving connectivity gaps, integrating UAS, and sustaining comms over long distances and multi-hop links.
