O.N.E. Amazon Will Work With the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Group to Create Innovative Mechanisms for Sustainable Development in the Amazon Region

  • During the NYCW, IDB and ONE Amazon announced a new framework of cooperation to promote programs and projects that foster cooperation between them for sustainable development in the Amazon region.

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–During New York Climate Week, O.N.E. Amazon, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Group, to jointly advance innovative mechanisms that foster sustainable development in the Amazon.

The agreement will promote the mobilization of private capital and the exchange of technological and scientific knowledge to strengthen the measurement and protection of natural capital. This cooperation will be implemented through a specific action plan that enhances O.N.E. Amazon’s model with technical assistance from IDB https://www.iadb.org/en, focusing primarily in: projects and activities to promote different areas, including innovation for green finance instruments, biodiversity-focused technologies, and digital nature assets; pilots in Amazonian territories to scale sustainable finance models, and knowledge exchange.

The O.N.E. Amazon fund leverages cutting-edge technologies to create a sustainable financial system aimed at conserving the Amazon rainforest, with four core objectives:

  • Protect tropical forests through sustainable practices.
  • Strengthen communities and improve conditions for sustainable livelihoods that discourage deforestation.
  • Promote sustainable projects that drive growth while ensuring conservation.
  • Apply advanced technologies to ensure transparency, reduce carbon emissions, and support climate adaptation.

O.N.E. Amazon’s model is a market-based conservation finance mechanism that transforms ecosystem services into verifiable and tradable financial assets by tokenizing forest hectares and creating diversified revenue streams.

“O.N.E. Amazon turns conservation into a powerful economic engine—protecting the rainforest, empowering local communities, and delivering competitive returns for global investors. Partnering with IDB, a recognized leader in aligning sustainability with economic development, is the perfect step for our purpose,” said Rodrigo Veloso, CEO of O.N.E. Amazon.

Through this collaboration, IDB and O.N.E. Amazon will jointly promote private capital mobilization, sustainable development projects, and systematic knowledge-sharing on technologies to measure and monitor natural capital in the Amazon biome.

“By partnering with O.N.E. Amazon, the IDB Group can combine innovative finance with development goals—protecting the Amazon forest by creating jobs and caring about the communities, in line with our Amazon Forever program,” said Ilan Goldfajn, President of the IDB Group

With this agreement, O.N.E Amazon continues driving bold partnerships and impactful projects that prove that its approach is effective, sustainable, and reliable.

About O.N.E Amazon

O.N.E Amazon is an Impact Fund reimagining conservation as Investment with Purpose, created to prove that preservation can be more valuable than deforestation. It tackles the historic undervaluation of the Amazon by turning the forest’s invisible services into measurable assets, aligning global capital with conservation and making long-term preservation a smart economic choice for investors, governments, and communities.

At the core of the model is the Internet of Forests (IoF™), an advanced monitoring system powered by satellites, LiDAR, and on-the-ground sensors connected via LoRaWAN/Wi-Fi, that “datifies” nature, delivers real-time ecological intelligence, and provides accountability to investors while reinforcing government sovereignty. By tokenizing forest hectares and creating nature-backed securities, O.N.E Amazon transforms ecological value into investable financial assets and makes preservation financially competitive versus deforestation.

With 85% of revenues remaining in the country of origin and local and Indigenous communities at the heart of every solution, O.N.E Amazon is building a scalable conservation finance network that delivers measurable impact for nature, people, and investors alike.
