National Policing Institute Partners with Polis Solutions to Offer New Data Analytics Tools and Services for Law Enforcement

ARLINGTON, Va., Oct. 16, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — The National Policing Institute (NPI) and Polis Solutions announce a partnership offering law enforcement agencies state-of-the-art technology and services that leverage body-worn camera (BWC) video analysis to optimize agency performance. The partnership will combine NPI’s deep scientific and law enforcement expertise with Polis Solutions’ innovative TrustStat™ technology to enhance agency effectiveness.

Through the partnership, NPI will be offering two new services: a short-term Rapid Performance Assessment and a longer-term Performance Advisor service. Both services use Polis TrustStat™ to enable agencies to leverage their BWC footage to derive actionable, data-driven insights from officer-citizen contacts and provide custom analysis and evaluations to support optimization of operations, training, and administration. A key feature of both services is the ability to examine police-community interactions holistically and to account for the nature of the call and the actions of both responding officers and community members.

Instead of relying on random, isolated incidents to inform policy, training, and performance, both the Rapid Performance Assessment and Performance Advisor enable agencies to efficiently and accurately glean actionable insights from large volumes of BWC footage. The new NPI services offer valuable analysis for performance evaluation, training, policy development, and addressing agency-specific priorities.

“One of the unique facets of this technology is that its output includes an assessment of how officers and community members interact, taking a more holistic view of police-community contacts and outcomes,” said NPI President Jim Burch. “The assessment examines all types of calls, including the large number of calls that go very well, presenting a fuller picture of what’s happening in the community. We know agencies of all sizes and geographic locations can benefit from these assessments, finally shining a light on the full picture.”

“Our partnership with NPI marks a turning point in the integration of BWC data analytics with human expertise,” said Polis CEO, Dr. Jonathan Wender. “By combining our TrustStat™ AI technology with NPI’s unmatched capacity for science-based innovation, we’re going to change the paradigm around how BWC data gets used to identify and reinforce the practices and tactics that drive successful outcomes and strengthen community trust.”

Benefits of Rapid Performance Assessment and Performance Advisor:
By leveraging Polis’ TrustStat™ technology and NPI’s expertise, the services will:

  • Offer agencies both a short-term and long-term option for leveraging BWC data
  • Use individual agency’s BWC data to optimize performance, enhance training, and improve community outcomes
  • Assess officer performance in relation to incident difficulty and citizen behavior
  • Align BWC review with evolving policy needs
  • Improve return on investment (ROI) for your agency’s BWC program
  • Inform training and policy changes through large-scale, data-driven insights rather than anecdotes or infrequent, negative events, such as use of force and complaints.
