Mytonomy Modernizes Patient Education with New Written Education Library and Industry-Leading Clinical Metadata

Partnership with IMO Health Powers Clinical Metadata for Enhanced Patient Education Delivery and Improved Experience in Clinical Workflow

BETHESDA, Md., Sept. 15, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Mytonomy today announced the launch of its modern Written Education Library, a major expansion to its award-winning patient education library, as well as enhancements to its enterprise software platform delivering a modern streaming experience that combines both video and written education in one place. They also shared that the provider experience is enhanced with a more powerful, algorithmic delivery of written education using the robust IMO Health platform, which is already an industry standard in powering billing codes within EHRs such as Epic, in most major hospitals.

Vinay Bhargava, President and Co-founder of Mytonomy, stated, “The partnership with IMO Health modernizes previous legacy approaches of delivering written education inside the EHR workflow, helping providers deliver consistent, evidence-based guidance to every patient. Mytonomy’s modern, high-fidelity written education library helps patients understand how to care for themselves. This content can be streamed alongside our microlearning video education or delivered independently — inside or outside the EHR. We are simultaneously improving the provider and patient experience across the clinical journey.”

“Partnering with Mytonomy to integrate our industry-leading terminology, precise code mapping, and clinical AI ensures all providers have the right education at the right time,” said Ann Barnes, CEO, IMO Health. “We’re excited about this opportunity to help Mytonomy deliver greater accuracy, boost efficiency, and improve the patient experience.”

Education Across Care Settings
Mytonomy’s new written education library offers written handouts for adults, children, and older adults across all major conditions and procedures spanning the most care settings, including ambulatory, inpatient, procedural, chronic, acute, and wellness care. Materials span common points in the patient journey, such as pre- and post-operative instructions, medication guidance, lab/test explanations, discharge planning, and condition overviews, giving clinicians trusted, actionable resources to support their patients.

Highly Visual, Action-Oriented Design
The design of each handout is easy to follow, using visual cues such as graphics, icons, bold key terms, and clear action steps. This design ensures that patients not only read but also receive and understand information, allowing them to make informed health decisions.

Integration and Informatics Innovation
The Written Education Library integrates seamlessly into existing health IT systems, including Epic (via Smart Text), SMART on FHIR, HL7, or Mytonomy’s Patient Experience Cloud. Powered by IMO Health’s clinical informatics technology, metadata code sets and keywords are generated automatically to ensure precise mapping, easy retrieval, and the delivery of the right education at the right time.

Supporting Different Learning Preferences
Mytonomy’s Written Education Library follows the same high standards of clinical accuracy, health literacy, and accessibility as Mytonomy’s microlearning video education. By offering information in both text and video formats, Mytonomy enhances support for patients with diverse learning styles, literacy levels, and accessibility needs. On average, writing is at a 4th to 6th-grade reading level, and even lower for specialized content. All written education follows the Plain Language Act of 2010, ADA-compliant accessibility standards, URAC, aligns with the NIH Health Literacy Initiative, and many other important guidelines.

Equity, Accessibility, and Language Options
All content meets CLAS Standards for cultural and linguistic appropriateness, helping health systems advance equity and inclusion. Through Mytonomy’s Language Studio, materials are available in English and Spanish, with on-demand translation into more than 100 languages to support diverse patient populations.

Governance and Continuous Improvement
Every handout undergoes a structured review cycle every three years to ensure accuracy and compliance. In addition, content is regularly refined against national standards and updated with ongoing feedback from providers, ensuring it remains relevant, actionable, and user-friendly.

“With Mytonomy’s Written Education Library, we’re closing a gap by giving patients comprehensive information in ways that work best for them. Whether that’s watching a video, reading a handout, or both,” said Miranda Wommer, Director, Nursing and Head of Written Education, Mytonomy. “As a nurse and product leader, I’ve seen firsthand how critical it is to make education clear, accessible, and actionable. This addition builds on our mission to support patients comprehensively, on a single platform, across the entire care journey, while reducing burden on care teams.”
