Legacy EV and SmarterHelp Partner to Power the Next Generation of the EV Workforce

New collaboration bridges vehicle and charger training to prepare a skilled workforce for the rapidly growing EV industry.

GILBERT, Ariz., Oct. 14, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Legacy EV , a leader in electric vehicle education and conversion technology, has partnered with SmarterHelp, an independent workforce development company spun out from ChargerHelp!, to launch a joint training solution designed to prepare technicians for every part of the EV ecosystem — from the car to the charger.

The partnership aligns two industry leaders with a shared mission: to close the talent gap in clean transportation by offering scalable, hands-on training programs for schools, workforce boards, and technical organizations nationwide.

The bundled program begins with a shared introductory course, “Intro to EV Jobs,” which covers electrical theory, high-voltage safety, charging systems, and industry standards. From there, learners can choose one of two certification pathways:

  • EV Technician Pathway (Legacy EV): Focused on vehicle systems, diagnostics, and battery management.
  • EVSE Technician Pathway (SmarterHelp): Focused on charger commissioning, and maintenance.

“The EV revolution depends as much on people as it does on technology,” said Mavrick Knoles, President of Legacy EV . “This partnership gives learners a clear, industry-aligned path to meaningful careers in clean transportation — the kind of work that’s shaping the future of mobility.”

“SmarterHelp’s mission is to make green jobs accessible to everyone, especially in communities that have historically been left out of the clean-energy economy,” said Kianna Scott, CEO of SmarterHelp . “Together with Legacy EV, we’re connecting the dots between vehicle and infrastructure training to build a workforce ready to keep the EV industry moving forward.”

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, more than 6 million clean-energy jobs will be created by 2035, with electric vehicles representing one of the fastest-growing segments. Yet only a fraction of today’s workforce has the skills required to build and maintain these systems. By combining expertise in both vehicle electrification and charging infrastructure, Legacy EV and SmarterHelp are helping bridge that gap and accelerate workforce readiness for the clean-energy transition.

The new bundled training solution will be available to workforce boards, community colleges, and training organizations nationwide beginning in Q1 2026.
